So the lesson we learned last night boys & girls is, "Don't drink & drive in Hawaii".

What a great episode of LOST - plenty of speculation ahead of time that Michael had been turned by The Others so it was no real surprise (or loss) that he shot Ana Lucia but the gut shot on Dirty Libby just came out of left field - will she be the only cast regular to not get a flashback episode ? And what does this do to Hurley's backstory from just 2 episodes ago ????

Jack's father gets kudos for another excellent flashback appearance and yet another connection to the survivors - though AL is no longer a survivor. Does this mean that somehow this is all Jack's personal hell ? And who is Jack's sister ? Claire ? Oh what tangled webs we weave....

and Paris goes home - didn't see it but she could not have been surprised - I will have to check realitynewsonline.com for the recap - Elvis week next week - ladies & gentlemen, Chris may leave the building.....not a lot in that song catalog for him to cover......

Game 4 is tomorrow at 3pm at MSG and I have no faith in the NYR which means I must be a true blue fan - we expect nothing but the worst but deep in our hearts we will never really give up the ship - teams have come from down 3-0 before - not a lot of them but we have to get at least one win out of the series - Larry brooks makes the point today that we should call up a couple of the kids from Hartford now that they are out of the playoffs - we do need shooters since this team has reverted to the pass happy pretty goal teams of the late 70's early 80's - as Bilol Chadwick used to yell at Barry Beck - "SHOOT THE PUCK !!!"

Cirie pulled a move off last night in Survivor that would have made Rob C from Survivor Amazon proud - she needed Danielle and she got her when it counted most - now she is sitting pretty for at least Final 3 since Terry is going to have to use it or lose it with the immunity idol and he is going to have to do it soon.........Shane has his SAG card so I can't help but think more & more that he is playing a character rather than him being just plain insane......Danielle has Maxim, Stuff or FHM written all over her when the game ends and Courtney couldn't get off my TV screen fast enough - good riddance

So Kellie Pickler is finally gone on American Idol - she spared us a repeat of the high note from Unchained Melody by babbling her way out after her "Bad Day" video montage (I did like the acoustic version of Bad Day and downloaded it after the show). I am sure that once the American Idol Top 10 Summer Concert Tour is over we will see Ms. Pickler grace the pages of one of the lad mags like Maxim, Stuff or FHM........Miss Stanley County 2004, you will be missed......and hopefully Paris will soon follow

The apology to Kat was a surprise and was needed - she definitely was a lot better than the judge's initial reaction and she needed to know and so did the voting public - though getting that type of rip job while singing in the leadoff slot may have been just the motivation to get her fans to keep on dialing........the top 2 vote getters last night should be the Top 2 in the Finale in May

We needed Willis Reed and we got Neal Walk.......all season long I kept hoping that no one would wake me up and I would find that it was all a dream and now I keep hoping that someone will wake me up so my nightmare will end.....

Henrik will start tonight and Kasparaitis will miss another game on defense - the big question though is Jagr. Will he play ? The papers all quote him as saying it would take a miracle but I can definitely see him having a "Willis Reed" moment after taking the needle in the shoulder. Even if he only plays on Power Plays, he will give the fans and the building a huge boost......I do see tonight's game going to the Rangers - the devils will come in overconfident and the Rangers will be desperate - I look to Henrik to be sharp.......

Kellie - what is that growing out of the center of your hair ? She hits the high note and the raccoon moves out of my attic, mice flee the basement and today I will play it over & over again outside to see if it can get rid of the woodpecker too. Even her review/vote clip has her killing the high note. For the 2nd week in a row she butchers her song and knows it. She is this year's Nikki McKibben - no real talent but a fanatic southern voting bloc - she should go home.

So let me try and get this straight, Charlie Sheen used to chase Heather Locklear on SPIN CITY - Denise Richards kissed Heather on SPIN CITY before she married Charlie in real life - Denise is divorcing Charlie and Heather is divorcing Richie Sambora - and now Denise is dating Richie - so when does it come full circle and we have Charlie chasing Heather in real life ?

So lets talk Rangers-devils......

A lot is being made of the fact that Henril Lundqvist is a "rookie" and never played in a playoff game but what most people don't understand is that henrik has played in World championships every year since 2000 - he's won the Swedish Elite League Championship (just last year) and he backstopped Sweden to the GOLD in Torino this past february. He has played on big stages and played with a whole country & national pride riding on his shoulders - admittedly the expectations of the Blue Seats are much tougher than the whole country of Sweden but what I am trying to say is that Henrik will not be psyched out. What worries me is the defense play and whether the Rangers D will make one to many mistakes/bad passes and give up a few too many 2 on 1's - Brodeur can & will be had and I actually think that for once, the Rangers may actually have a slightly deeper bench - Matvichuk and his back are a question mark as are Colin White and his groin - the devils D is suspect - it can't be ignored that the devils won 11 in a row and the Rangers have lost 5 in a row but all that goes out the window when the puck drops Saturday at 3pm in front of a mixed crowd in the Swamp - I fully expect there to be a lot of Blue in the stands - you might get Jagr shut down for a game or 2 but you can't stop him in 7 - Rucchin & Rucinsky both need to come back strong and Prucha will be the difference maker - Rangers in 7

No surprise at all in seeing Ace take the pipe last night. Only a real minor surprise in seeing Chris there as the AI voting public is notoriously fickle when a favorite has an okay week in a genre way outside their element. Kellie acted like she had just won the final showcase on The Price Is Right when she heard that she was safe. Love Songs w/ Andrea Bocelli - should be another interesting week for Chris - I fully expect to see Taylor on his knees bending down in vocal emotional pain.......

Wow, Celebrity Cooking Showdown is really bad and what a surprise that Miss USA (an NBC Show that is on in the next week) was the winner last night.......Top Chef is much better - I wonder who got the boot.....I just couldn't stay up for it.

I definitely approve of the new window display in the Victoria's Secret store in Herald Square.....I also approve of the young lady I saw walking up the west side of 5th between 36th & 37th yesterday..........

My American Idol thunks for Songs from the Great American Songbook night.....

Chris - I expected the alt-rock version of a standard but then read that arrangements had to stay true to the original. I figured he was screwed but he put together a very nice rendition and performance. He was safe no matter what he did anyway.

Paris - So who are you playing dress up as this week ? Natalie Cole ? You don't look right in what you are wearing. The song was okay for me and better than some of your other weeks but I am just not a fan.

Taylor - Good thing that there were 2 halves to that song - you killed the ending and that was what they showed in the recap. The Soul Patrol should pull him through.

Elliott - eh. This could actually be a genre that you could make some decent coin in should you get a record deal. Nice enough voice but absolutely nothing remarkable about him in any way. Bottom 3 no matter what he does.

Kellie - Yikes !!! Bewildered is right. Good thing you have "great shoes". Katharine - No surprise that she killed here. I have heard better versions of the song - but then again, I am old so it makes sense that I have heard a lot of versions too - but this was up there. She looked great and sang beautifully. One problem that I could see is that I only got 5 busy signals - while voting for her about 15 times - 45 minutes after the show ended on the East Coast. She does seem to have a west coast fanbase so maybe they will pick up the slack.

Sucky Bucky finally hit the door last week - he stuck around longer than he should have which just goes to show that you never can underestimate the lack of taste in the American Public......I mean you are currently reading my drivel so I rest my case........

Great American Songbook hosted by Rod Stewart - this should be an interesting week in that no one is really hurt by the genre. Chris might have the hardest time but quite a few standards could be arranged in a way that plays to his strength. I would think that "My Way" would play well for him. Kellie is fairly safe but her potetial downfall could be picking a song that is too big for her. Katharine should knock this one out of the park no matter who or what she sings. Ace & Paris can make eyes at the camera and play dress-up in order to try and stay ahead of a fading Elliott. Taylor should set up a rematch with the mic stand and sing Dean Martin's "Ain't that a kick in the head".........

and now on to more important things.......

Henrik is back tonight and we need him to be sharp and we need the boys to step up and validate this season. Making the playoffs is great but at this point nothing short of winning the Atlantic will due. We can't go into the playoffs on a 5 game slide and in NJ, Philly or Buffalo.....Marc Staal has been sent to Hartford - I bet if his season had ended a week earlier he would have played in one of the last 4 games......Kasparaitis & Rucchin will be welcome returns to the line-up......and I best not see Colton Orr in the line-up.......is it 7pm yet ?

Happy Birthday Kevin Weekes and thanks for the present !!! He was booed when he was introduced and the fans loudly chanted his name as he was introduced as the first star of the game. I had no confidence in him despite his record against Philly and was sure the game was over in the moments before his 2 huge saves in the 3rd. Why the flyboyz had Michal "Cro-Magnon Man" Handzus take the final shot we will never know. I like Steve Somers analogy that the Petr Sykora trade is starting to pay off like the Larmer trade did 12 years ago. A last minute phone call got me a seat in the Barney's for last night's game and it was well worth the lost sleep.

Jeremy Stevens should go into hiding after all of his drops and Darrell Jackson may want to paint an out of bounds line in his bedroom so he can get used to staying on the right side of it (or left side of it as the case may be).......

It’s NFL Championship weekend and the pretenders have all fallen by the wayside, the defending champs have been slain and Mike Vanderjagt is still in hiding……..I’m glad that the call on the field was what it was when Champ got killed by Ben Watson because the video that had was as inconclusive as it gets – I don’t think that Bill Belichick’s proposed goal line cam would have helped………I don’t like bad pass interference calls anymore than the next fan but I don’t think that those calls should be reviewable by replay……….I love how everyone is jumping on the Steelers bandwagon just because they beat the Colts – a team that had it’s soft underbelly exposed in the final 3 weeks of the season and were led by choke-azz Peyton Manning and the emasculated one, Tony Dungy ? It's the first real snow of the winter and the idiots are out on the road. If you own and drive a 4 wheel drive Jeep, you should be able to go faster than 15 miles an hour. Obviously you need to sell your car and stay home. Get off the road ! If you are from the south and have never seen snow, stay off the road and stay home. Wait until the weekend, when I don't have to get to work, and go out and practice then. If you are nervous driving in snow - get off the road and climb back into bed. What genius at the Las Vegas Bowl thought that BYU would be a good team to bring to town ? I would think that the Mormons would be afraid to come to Sin City – the bars and casinos can’t be seeing a lot of business from their fans……but then again, what goes in Vegas, stays in Vegas………

I was all set to make fun of the Ohio State-Michigan meaning nothing last week and then they went out and played an instant classic……Cal buried Stanford and their band but still will wind up in some crap bowl playing someone like Rutgers because they fell on their faces 3 weeks in a row…….my favorite bowl game every year takes place on the Blue Field of Boise State……

Some CMA thunks – Country Music gets virtually no play in NYC but the popularity of country continues to grow nationwide so when country music gets a chance to showcase themselves in NYC for a night, why didn’t they break out performances of the upbeat new country sound instead of dragging one star out after another to sing slow songs that were true to country music’s roots ? It was a waste of a great prime time venue. The best performance of the4 night by far was Miranda Lambert’s performance of “Kerosene” – the ending visual of her dancing like crazy in front and behind two walls of flame was spectacular – she looked and sounded great too – she became a star with that one song. Carrie Underwood on the other hand, looked like a deer in headlights and her song was boring. LeeAnn Womack is just hot no matter what she sings and don’t you think that Waylon Jennings was scratching his way back up through 6 feet of dirt to get his hands on Elton John ? What were they thinking putting that fat british homo on stage at the CMA‘s ?

LOST thunks – Now that we have the tailies and the rest of the cast together I guess it is time for some flashbacks on their characters thus keeping the timeline from advancing very much again. I am looking forward to Libby’s back story so we can see what she looks like clean….….Hard to believe that Boone has only been dead for 8 days……..the interaction between Charlie & Locke should be interesting now that Locke has found out that Charlie is “religious”……..where has Kate been and why haven’t we seen more shower scenes of her in the hatch ???? Glad to see that Sawyer is still alive – they could spin his character off if they ever get off the island…….and will we ever find out what the numbers stand for ?..................more answers & questions tonight

It’s that time of year again and with the Broncos on their BYE week it means this year’s trip is back to VEGAS !!!

Hey Look – the Broncos just scored on the Iggles again…….nice of the Redskins to roll over for the Giants last weekend – I wonder if they were counting the ceiling tiles too…….considering that the Giants absolutely suck on the road this year, that “road game” against New Orleans in Week 2 really ought to be pissing off the rest of the NFC East right about now…….

The NBA has started up again and how excited do you think the players are about road trips to Oklahoma City this year instead of New Orleans ????

The best part of taking the kids Trick or Treating is watching all the MILF’s answer the door…….the second best part is trying out all the new types of candy…..I lost count of the number of Darth Vaders I saw this year – felt like I was back in the 70’s…..

It’s good thing that Sylvester Stallone has decided to call the latest Rocky installment “Rocky Balboa” instead of “Rocky 6” because as we all know – ROCKY 5 NEVER HAPPENED !!!......and speaking of Sly, is it not great that “The Contender 2” is starting up ? ESPN gets kudos for picking up this excellent series…….

The new NHL may be starting to catch up with the Rangers but it sure has been fun seeing the team that SI picked as the worst in the league – in FIRST PLACE !......now the Rangers need to get some muscle into the line-up or they are going to have more injuries like the Rucinsky injury……and Hendrik Lundqvist is going to be the next Mike Richter…….

Can anyone really believe that Rutgers is still in the running for BCS Bowl Berth ? The Big East Conference is a joke……….USC-Notre Dame may have been one of the best college games I have seen in a long time – Matt Leinart made a hell of a call on the 4th down play and got lucky with the spot of his fumble – it certainly also helped that the refs didn’t call Reggie Bush for pushing Leinart into the end zone either……USC does not have an easy road for their last few games – Cal may not be the team they were last year but I will still bet the OVER when they play…….regional Fox Sports channels are great in the early AM as I get to watch a lot of teams/games that I would never watch on a Saturday…..

Why is Penny Hardaway surprised that he is inactive for the opener tonight against the Celtics ? His best days are so far behind him that you can’t even see them…..

“I’m Not Earl” is the best new show on TV – I loved Jaime Pressley in Playboy but she is even better here……glad to see the Rugrats get eliminated last night on The Amazing Race – that family just annoyed me to no end…….the merge has happened on Survivor: Guatemala and I sure hope that Bobby John & Steph are smart enough to align themselves because they are targets from here on out – next player eliminated should be Judd but these people have not been too bright so far so we shall see…….I have said it before and I will say it again, I would never hire anyone who was on “The Apprentice” and if Trump were actually smart, he wouldn’t hire any of these idiots this year either – it would make a great finale – all the build up over who to hire and bam – he fires them both – the next crop of candidates would have to actually work that much harder at impressing him instead of backstabbing each other

Both Mike Anderson & Tatum Bell have more rushing yards this year than Reuben Droughns – with the play of the rejected Cleveland Defensive Line this year, that trade is looking better and better….the Champ Bailey trade isn’t looking all that great from either end of the spectrum and I still have no faith in Dominique Foxworthy or whatever his name is…….

Terry Glenn gets all the yards and Keyshawn gets all of the TD’s – I am sure that sits well with a stable clubhouse influence like Glenn……

I have made 15 loaves of Pumpkin Bread in the past 2 weeks and only been able to keep 2 – something is very wrong with that…….
