It is just a few days away from the beginning of that most wonderful time in college football called “Bowl Season”. Games being played in ridiculous places - with sponsors we have never heard of before - between teams that could care less about putting on the pads some 4 to 6 weeks after their season has already ended. Records just this side of mediocre – who could ask for more ? My picks are in BOLD

12/19 – Poinsettia Bowl – TCU (10-2) vs Northern Illinois (7-5) – the only reason to watch this game is because it is the first game . Or maybe to see that RB from Northern Illinois – what his name

12/21 – Las Vegas Bowl – BYU (10-2) vs Oregon (7-5) – despite their record the Ducks are tougher than they appear – still looks like tread marks on their unis – Vegas is the perfect place for a road tripping mormon to lapse – Mormons Gone Wild !!!!

12/22 – New Orleans Bowl – Troy (7-5) vs Rice (7-5)- at least they both have winning records – where is Troy anyway and didn’t they use to be Troy State ???

12/23 – Papajohn’s.com Bowl – South Florida (8-4) vs East Carolina (7-5) – for to go with the Bulls over the Pirates and did you know that Red Bull isn’t really red ?

12/23 – New Mexico Bowl – New Mexico (6-6) vs San Jose State (8-4) – only someone from San Jose could be excited about going to Albuquerque – home field will rule for the game that should be re-named “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl”

12/23 – Armed Forces Bowl – Tulsa (8-4) vs Utah (7-5) – what a sorry excuse for the triple header capper – if you are still watching football at this point you may need your chair surgically removed from your ass

12/24 – Hawaii Bowl – Arizona State (7-5) vs Hawaii (10-3) – ASU gets the reward of a trip to Honolulu for playing the patsy to Hawaii – I would not be upset about playing in this game at all – that QB for Hawaii is fun to watch too

12/26 – Motor City Bowl – Central Michigan (9-4) vs Middle Tennessee State (7-5) - “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl II”

12/27 – Emerald Bowl – Florida State (6-6) vs UCLA (7-5) – once upon a time this was a good game – maybe even a great game – now it is a pathetic afterthought – FSU should have said no to playing in a Bowl Game this year – I love to see Bobby Bowden lose – except for when FSU plays Miami of course

12/28 – Independence Bowl – Oklahoma State (6-6) vs Alabama (6-6) – how did the for Poulan Weedeater Bowl get saddled with this match up ? This truly is mediocrity at best. At least they gambling in nearby Bossier City.

12/28 – Holiday Bowl – California (9-3) vs Texas A&M (9-3) – finally a better than good game to watch and watch I will – tell all the aggie jokes you want – Mom was a Golden Bear – Go Oscie Go !!!

12/28 – Texas Bowl – Rutgers (10-2) vs Kansas State (7-5) – Louisville beats West Virginia and Rutgers beats Louisville and West Virgina beats Rutgers – and this the reward for the Scarlet Knights ? no respect I tell ya – no respect

12/29 – Music City Bowl – Clemson (8-4) vs Kentucky (7-5) – remember when Clemson beat Georgia Tech and ESPN Gameday was there and they talked about Clemson’s BCS possibilities ? Nashville is a lot farther away from Glendale than even Google earth thinks it is.

12/29 - Sun Bowl – Missouri (8-4) vs Oregon State (9-4) – despite being punished by being sent to El Paso, this has the potential to be a decent game to watch – Mizzou was on a roll but faded when the college football world started to take notice of them and Oregon State slayed the National Title hopes of USC – much to the Rose Bowl’s delight

12/29 – Liberty Bowl – South Carolina (7-5) vs Houston (10-3) – I love to see Steve Spurrier lose

12/29 – Insight Bowl – Minnesota (6-6) vs Texas Tech (7-5) – how excited was Tempe when they got stuck with this match-up ? the game is on the NFL Network so most of the country won’t be subjected to it.

12/29 – Champs Sports Bowl – Maryland (8-4) vs Purdue (8-5) – Purdue’s fifth loss was in Hawaii to Hawaii – doesn’t count – Maryland had a shot at the ACC title but a lot of mediocre teams did too.

12/30 – Meineke Car Care Bowl – Navy (9-3) vs Boston College (9-3) – the battle of the gold helmets !!! – BC was another ACC also ran – I never get tired of watching the Flutie Hail Mary Pass – I may even watch this promising match-up

12/30 - Alamo Bowl – Iowa (6-6) vs Texas (9-3) – talk about how far the mighty have fallen ? Texas should be able to sleep walk through this mess

12/30 – Chick-Fil-A Bowl – Virginia Tech (10-2) vs Georgia (8-4) – the Bulldogs may be the worst 8-4 team in the country – G logos on cars all over the place here in Atlanta – eat more chikin’

12/31 – MPC Computers Bowl – Nevada (8-4) vs Miami (6-6) – BLUE FIELD !!!! New Year’s Eve in Boise – what a great sendoff for Larry Coker – I can only hope it starts to snow in the 4th quarter so the team’s plane can’t take off

1/1 – Outback Bowl – Penn State (8-4) vs Tennessee (9-3) – interesting game – Joe Pa should be on the sidelines – I am looking into the rumors that he is going to be borrowing the PopeMobile

1/1 – Cotton Bowl – Auburn (10-2) vs Nebraska (9-4) – I hate Nebraska. I hate everything about Nebraska. If I never set foot in the state of Nebraska again in my lifetime it will be too soon. I really want auburn to win. And they will.

1/1 – Capital One Bowl – Wisconsin (11-1) vs Arkansas (10-3) – the badgers have to be one of the least impressive 11-1 teams I have ever seen – that is if they had actually kept me interested enough to watch – McFadden is going to be a very rich young man soon and the old Southwest Conference will smile from the great beyond

1/1 – Gator Bowl – Georgia Tech (9-4) vs West Virginia (10-2) – two BCS Wannabe’s who couldn’t seal the deal when they needed to – the Rambling Wreck was just that this year and will end the season in the same way

1/1 – Rose Bowl – Michigan (11-1) vs USC (10-2) – Old School – this game is going to be the best game so to date and maybe the best game of the whole shooting match – went to the Rose Bowl 16 years ago – what an experience

1/1 – Fiesta Bowl – Boise State (12-0) vs Oklahoma (11-2) – My BCS Championship Game – easily the absolute biggest game in Broncos history – Ian Johnson is going to get to showcase himself on the national stage – Oklahoma was really just one bad “home” call away from being included in the National Championship conversations

1/2 - Orange Bowl – Wake Forest (11-2) vs Louisville (11-1) – this will be a fun game to watch – Louisville is never boring and they love to run & pass – I still think they played better with the back-up under center while Brohm was hurt – Wake survived the “rugged” ACC but can it survive it’s national spotlight debut ?

1/3 – Sugar Bowl – LSU (10-2) vs Notre Dame (10-2) – Everything I said about Nebraksa could be said about Notre Dame – I don’t like South Bend but I did stay in the Holiday Inn just off of Route 80 every time I dove cross country back in the 80’s – I will never forget the night I lay awake all night listening to the couple in the next room go at it like a couple of teenagers all night long – but I digress – LSU thought they were going to Pasdena – they will now get a chance to show their “home” crowd that the BCS should have sent them west

1/6 – International Bowl - Cincinnati (7-5) vs Western Michigan (8-4) - “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl III” - if you are watching this game, you need to get out of your parent’s basement and get some fresh air

1/7 – GMAC Bowl – Southern Mississippi (8-5) vs Ohio (9-4) - “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl IV” – if you are watching this game than you must be a degenerate gambler and somebody needs to stage an intervention – but let’s wait until halftime to see how the bets are riding

1/8 – BCS National Championship Game – Ohio State (12-0) vs Florida (12-1) – it is not exactly a game that I am all that excited to watch – I will have it on but won’t be watching it watching it……Gators deserve to be there as much as Michigan but we already saw OSU vs MICH and no on wants to see a re-match – Florida will try to keep it close but Ohio State is just too fast and Troy Smith does not know how to lose – make room in the trophy case for another large chunk of glass

Originally posted on Monday 12/11 on myspace

I wouldn't say that my Broncos are done just yet - they still have 3 very winnable games in Arizona, Cincy & SF - but I will say I have started digging in the silverware drawer for a fork........I know the irrational temptation is to clamor for the return of Jake but this team needs Jay Cutler to play as much as he can as soon as he can.....interesting that Tatum Bell has become a real running back the last 2 weeks - only a matter of time before he breaks again.....and Tony Scheffler's time on the scout team finally paid off in the 2nd half......

Does anyone not think that the Chargers are going to win the SuperDuperBowl ? Should be fun to watch them run it up on KC next week too......LT will get another 3 TD's easily........

The Colts are exposed as the pretender that they are - no NFL team can expect to be taken seriously if they give up 375 yards on the ground - not even a bad college team like Army gives up that much per week - great week to have Maurice Jones-Drew in your fantasy line-up and yes, I did......

Cincy has it's destiny in it's own hands but they have to beat an embarrassed Colts team first and then they have to go beat Denver in Denver - which hasn't been that hard this year - Ocho Cinco & Who'syourmamma make a nasty WR tandem and as long as players keep getting arrested, the Bengals keep winning.........Oakland is just plain sorry and should have just saved everyone the trouble yesterday and conceded to the bengals before the opening kickoff.........

Did anyone else feel a warm feeling in the pit of their football bellies as we watched Drew Brees light up the cowpokies like a Bourbon Street Bum on a half smoked butt.......Reggie Bush has made his opponents the last 2 weeks look like Fresno State.....don't see how they don't get to the Conference Championship game if they can get the home Dome advantage - America wants to see them win.......

speaking of Rookies who are starting to make a major difference, Vince Young went into Houston yesterday and left with an absolutely spectacular TD run to win the game in OT - I would love to see the replay and check to see if he either slipped Mario Williams or juked him out of his jock.....I love Gary Kubiak but his ownership really slipped him a raw deal with that first round debacle at the draft last year.......the rest of the AFC better hope that the wild card slots don't slip to 9-7 because the Titans are playing some mighty scary ball right about now........

the less said about the NY Giants the better........Chris Weinke threw 61 times ? Has his arm fallen off yet today ?.....Carolina was a pre-season super bowl pick (probably for me) and now they look like picked over trash - even Superman Steve Smith can't save them from golf in early January......

How are the Eagles still a wild card contender ? Oh yeah, the NFC stinks - that's how........

Miami shuts out the Pats as Tom Brady continues his South Beach futility - rumor has it that he is visited by the ghost of Tara Reid every time he plays there - must be true because he plays like he has been out all night with a drunken chick with lopsided implants........watching the Saints game last night you just know Nick Saban was still loving that Daunte over Drew signing from this past offseason.......

Vikings don't seem to be missing Daunte but then they did play the Lions.....

Seattle proved again yesterday why they are not a SuperDuperBowl contender in their loss to Arizona - obviously Denny Green knew exactly who they were too - not often you can say that about the only man that can almost make Art Shell look good by comparison.......

Brett Favre is 7 TD's away from Dan Marino - does anyone but Peter King care ??????

The J-E-T-SJETSJETSJETS blew a great chance yesterday to put the pressure on the Pats in the AFC Least - instead they let a sick Willis McGahee vomit all over them again - this was nowhere near the same team that killed on the frozen tundra - this team just looked more like roadkill.....

Baltimore, based on recent history, should have been roadkill in KC since the Chiefs (worst fans in the league - at least from this Broncos fan perspective) had won 18 straight at home in December - but then the Chiefs had never had Herm Edwards as their coach in KC in December before......Baltimore's record may get them home field but they have no chance to get to Miami in February.....I am still having trouble with SI for anointing Ray Lewis as "God's Linebacker" on a recent cover........

so which game did I miss ? Oh yeah, Atlanta beat Tampa - I think ESPN gave that game about the same amount of coverage that I just did.....

Chicago is at St. Louis tonight and I will be watch either "How I met your mother" & "Two and a Half Men" or the live action version "The Year without a Santa Clause" - which looks like a typical hollywood clusterfrick - rather than watching Rex Grossman try to give away the game to the Lambs.........Chicago 37 St. Louis 13

It was a statement game but was it the Broncos saying “We aren’t that bad.” Or was it the Pats saying “We aren’t that good.” ?

Charlie Batch 1-0 Evel Knievel 0-2

The Jets may be the most entertaining underrated bunch of overachievers in the league.

Don’t let the score fool you – the Giants suck – keep talking Shockey – New York loves a loudmouth

I don’t like Chris Simms (and I hated his father) but you have to admire finishing a game with a busted spleen

Kurt Warner, meet Joe Pisarcik. It’s just too bad that Warner didn’t fumble the ball against the Chiefs

I still don’t think Da Bears are for real.

I dread reading “Monday Morning QB” by Peter King today – he is going to be fellating Brett Favre again – I just know it………

Peyton Manning ran for a TD ? I run from the TV any time I see one of his commercials come on…..again……

No T.O. this weekend and the world did not stop spinning…….

The Dolphins eliminated me last year in my suicide pool and almost did again this year……

The Iggles got well in SF but where was Donte Stallworth ? He killed my fantasy team this week…….

The Raiders should petition the league for 16 Bye weeks – at least they didn’t get blown out

A few college notes – Charlie Weis is really fat and he is really lucky (this week)……I turned my back on the TV for 2 seconds and Cal scored 28 points – what the ????......I’m starting to like Louisville a lot – West Virginia does nothing for me………Auburn vs Ohio State would be fun championship game……Joe Pa should have stayed in the head……..and Rutgers is in the Top 25 (# 23) – what is the world coming to ?

New Orleans 31 Atlanta 27 – the Crescent City falls deeper in love with Reggie Bush…….

Swampy is back !!!! Like anyone really cares........

I have been so depressed over the final result of the St. Louis weekend that I just couldn't write.........

actually I just had too many meetings and too much work but now I am sitting in my hotel room in Chicago and I am watching Survivor - next week I tape Survivor and WATCH Earl & The Office......

but back to STL......The Arch is a ripoff but I could see the casino from up there......LaClede's Landing has some good little restaurants & bars with one seriously hot buxom bartender in a tattered denim micro-mini at Joey B's - too bad the TV befind her was screwed up and I really wanted to watch the OSU-UT game but considering the outcome I should have stayed at the bar.........The Casino Queen is a dive of a riverboat casino - and I have been on some bad ones - I'm looking at you Lake Charles - but I did win $200 at the Roulette Wheel playing with the pink chips.....I think that the sequined, spray on tanned, 80's hair, mid 30's cougars on the prowl didn't think that swampy was greasy enough for them until they noticed my chips as I got ready to cash out......I had almost the same growth and I did have the same hat on but backwards........Sexual Suspects on Showtime was a horrible movie that wanted to be porn but wasn't - it would have been funnier if it had been........the buffet breakfast at our hotel stunk but we probably should have gotten there a little bit earlier.......the Ed Jones Dome is nothing to write home about but it does have the new turf that almost looks like dirt.......

and onto the football game.......Jake played like he wanted Jay to play - best sight of the weekend was after the game when I met a married couple on the train, the wife wore a Jake jersey and the husband wore a Jay jersey, I am sure that will lead to some interesting conversations in their home but I digress.......Mike Bell, Tatum Bell - doesn't look like it matters....Javon got open but he couldn't catch the ball......did I hint at the fact that Jake sucked ?......the D looked solid - I can't bitch about 6 FG's and No TD's.......kick returns have never been a strong point but you have to get past the 23 yard line.......guess i have no choice but to accept 15-1 this year instead of 16-0.....and now I have been to a game in STL so that is a stadium and a city that is now off the list (not that it had a very high spot on that list to start with).........

I could win Survivor and I could win The Amazing Race.....too bad mortgages don't pay themselves........

Hey Crab Man !!!!

Why hasn't Miranda Lambert made me her friend yet ? I bought her CD as soon as it came out.......Why Ran ? Why ?

the commute has been rougher this week and catching a 6:30 flight this morning just made it tougher......

I finished "A Salty Piece of Land" and I couldn't help but notice how many times Jimmy Buffett usedlines from his songs in his book - I hadn't noticed it in his other books - I guess that this book is the fictional autobiography of Jimmy Buffett - I would love to do that and maybe I will in bits & pieces, in thinks & thunks - Tully Mars is Jimmy and swampy is me.....now go get a boat drink.......

I still say Suri was photoshopped and that Annie Liebovitz sold out......

why is Paris relevant ?

*SPOILER ALERT* - the black tribe just made a big mistake......

LOST starts October 4 and that just is not soon enough.........

Why do I get FHM & Maxim ? I haven't paid for Maxim in years and I have never paid for FHM - I still liked GEAR the best but that is probably because of the Jessica Biel nipple slip and the Brandi Chastain soccer ball shot but I digress again - the articles in both suck and this month the chicks in FHM were ugly until we got to the Hometown Honey section - oh and the "She's Your Sister" shot though at 20 years old I felt dirty looking at her - almost.........

The Casino Queen made me miss Vegas and the potential that every weekend there has........
the longer I sit here the more likely I am to order room service even though there is nothing on the menu that I really want........I just looked again and nothing appeals to me but I will have to find something........

cooking up some thunks.....

been thunking up some different ideas in the kicthen....have a ton of tomatoes, of varying kinds, that are coming out of the garden and making their way into the kitchen. I can only eat so many straight salads so what to do, what to....here's one using salmon burgers from the frozen seafood section of Costco (maybe the best buy in the store).....

chop up a bunch of tomatoes (I used red & yellow plums) and toss them into a saute pan - olive oil, salt, pepper, a couple of pinches of cumin, a pinch of ginger, a handful of chopped onion and some cilantro......saute down over a low heat - when the tomatoes have turned to a sauce take the 2 salmon burger patties and place them in the pan and cover.....turn in 5 to 7 minutes and spoon some of the mixture over the salmon burgers........in another 5 minutes flip the burgers and cover with slices of colby jack cheese - cover pan and turn off heat.....when cheese has melted - serve - would go well with something like yellow rice.......

or this......

bake a red pepper tortilla in a salad bowl pan until crisp - set aside......4 yellow & red plum tomatoes and 6 red, orange & yellow cherry tomatoes, 1 large carrot, half a red or yellow pepper and 1 celery stalk.....leave the tomatoes whole and cut the carrot, pepper & celery into chunks.......spray them with Olive Oil Pam and salt & pepper.....throw them on the grill and slowly roast them for 20+/- minutes - in the meantime, throw 2 chicken sausages (I used chicken & mango) on the grill and julienne a handful of iceberg lettuce......throw some shredded cheddar into the bottom of the tortilla bowl and add the lettuce - add chopped roasted vegetables - sprinkle with Tabsco Chipotle Sauce - add chopped hardboiled egg and sliced sauasage - top with Spicy Ranch Dressing and mix - enjoy.......

was at the driving range today slicing the hell out of my new rescue clubs when i realized the guy at the spot next to me was actually playing a full game - he would consult a yardage book, select a club, hit the shot, consult the yardage book, select a club and then aim for one of the flags in the range - if he landed it on the green he went back to his driver - if he missed the green, he broke out the sand or lob wedge........I wonder what course he was playing ??????

just watched Rounders - not bad but not the seminal movie that a person could be led to believe that it is - I'm not a poker player so that probably had a lot to do with it - at least now I will understand the references and be able to keep up in a conversation - glad I saw it......

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is next......

no ipod song of the day but i do have to say that you should head over to CMT to catch Megan Mullins and her new video and her Studio 330 Session - and what a great series that is - deserving of it's own thunks at some point..........

I thunked that Robby Gordon was going to push his way through to victory in the Busch Series race at Watkins Glen this afternoon - a sign of things to come tomorrow ?
Haven't seen the NFL Network replay yet but I hear the Jay Cutler looked very good against the Lions - don't know about Mike Bell yet - let me know if you know.......need to get my 3 fantasy football leagues set up this weekend and I need to clean my desk........it's more fun splitting firewood.....

still having trouble with the thunk of Paris Hilton being celibate for a year.....Lindsay Lohan has a better chance of staying sober for a year......(cheap search engine ploy)

3 new "Losties" joining the cast but as for who & how - keep guessing.....

how out of touch was I to not know that Bon Jovi had a torrid affair with Diane Lane and that "You give love a bad name" was written about her......i still think she is smoking hot.........

started a Jimmy Buffett novel today but that was before I remembered that I have a James Lee Burke waiting in the wings - Jimmy may just have to wait.........

come back tomorrow when a try out another freeform new recipe - Cheesy Crab & Tomato Pie........

Earl Morrall.7:33.Citrus Cooler.Dawn of Fury.

Mythbusters is tacking the Diet Coke & Mentos phenomenom tonight

Back to Dawn of Fury - this is the first in the Nathan Stone Trilogy and to be honest, if the books hadn't been purchased with a gift card, I doubt I would have continued with Books 2 & 3 - they say he is reminiscent of Louis L'Amour but only in his settings.......

What in God's name did Maurice Clarett need 4 loaded guns (one an AK-47) and a kevlar vest for anyway ??????

ipod SOD yesterday was Mirror in the Bathroom by the English Beat....today it was "Double Bogey Blues" from Tin Cup

Download Shawn Mullins' "Beautiful Wreck" now if you haven't already......

Cat Cora is really forcing it in her FHM pictorial - does not compare with the original Rachel Ray photo shoot for STUFF. (I thunk)

Yesterday's ipod shuffle song of the day was "Stealin' Watermelons" by Elvin Bishop - haven't heard today's song yet.......

Mike Bell - yet another no name RB making waves in the Broncos backfield......Cutler moves into the #2 slot and Jake starts to feel the heat......when is Ashley Lelie going to be traded and will we get more than a 7th round pick for him now ?

I was a little late to the Gnarls Barkley Party but "Crazy" is a great song - are any of his other tunes on par with that one ? My ipod wants to know.......

Missed The Contender last week so I can't wait to see it tonight and again tomorrow morning during my workout.....

I had forgotten how much I hatre to do laundry and iron clothes.......

Britney & KFed just keep getting more & more entertaining - they should just be put in a biosphere so we can all watch them from a distance like animals at the zoo.......her accent gets more trailer park the more she drinks........

I still miss The Most..........

Zeke signed another small forward ! He needs to be put in a biosphere too........

Starting reading "Peter & the Shadow Thieves" to my kids last week - now I can't wait for them to get home so we can finish the book.........

I thunk it will be re-heated crawfish pies for dinner tonight........

The Accenture ad with the tag line "Go on. Be a Tiger." cracks me up for reason you have to know me to know....

Heard that Kat broke her foot now on tour but she will still be singing - just no woooden dancing on flashing the crowd in that slit up to there yellow dress......bummer

Mets still in first by a mile - it will get chilly in Shea this year.....

Football is back but it was the raiders.......Broncos kick off the preseason on Friday night in Detroit - time to move my tv viewing to the basement tv and the NFL network.....

Still haven't made the Sports Guy's mailbag but I didn't try this time either......

$208m Powerball winner was from Wisconsin - what a waste - if I had won, I would have come back to work to clean out my desk and that is it.....

Handicap dropped from 14.3 to 13.5 - I guess I should play more often....

LJM sighting this morning !
Elvis sighting at the train station !
CSI sighting on the train !!!
It was a good morning for people watching.......

Lance Bass is Gay ? What a surprise......

I have 1,360 songs saved on my iPod at the moment. Two of those songs are "Incident on 57th Street" and "Rosalita" both by Bruce Springsteen and both need to be played as one in order to get their full effect. Nearly impossible when you have your ipod set to shuffle. They played within 2 songs of each other yesterday afternoon on my way home. This morning it played 3 songs by Iz during my 24 song commute........

Scott Gomez has always hurt the Rangers in the past and now his arbitration award is going to hurt the devils - I love it......

The 5th & Final round of last night's "The Contender" was great - I know that boxing purists say they hate the show beacuse they don't show the whole fight but watching those two stand toe to toe and flail away at each other from all different angles was great viewing - especially at 4:45am when I watched - thank you ESPN......

Why would anyone pay to read "classic" Maureen Dowd columns in the NYT ? Do they need to see for themselves again how wrong she is almost all the time ?

The Rangers and Las Panteras are going to play an exhibition game in Puerto Rico this fall. If the NHL wanted to reach out to the Puerto Rican market, why didn't they just play the game in the South Bronx ? Ay caramba.......

Darius Watts. 7:44! Propel Strawberry-Kiwi. Black Wind.

Tiger is back. He ripped a 7 under 65 today and has a 3 shot lead so far. Leaderboard is definitely going to be ratings friendly for the weekend.

So what is all the uproar about trading Dominic Moore ? The Rangers have been a little crowded at Center anyway and they have some kids with more of a nose for the net coming up through the system. Hall has some size and has shown that he can score. I don't see how anyone can even begin to not see this as a big win for the Rangers. I would like to see Rucinsky get signed but I have a feeling that his ego is going to get in the way (like it already has) and this deal is not going to get done. I bet he winds up in Pittsburgh for pennies on the dollar.

NFL Rookies are starting to report and the Thunks will start to turn a little more football centric.....

They are going to start selling ads on the Front Page of the WSJ - $248K will get you the lower right corner or the strip at the bottom of the page - me thunks it's only a matter of time before a few more shekels will land you "above the fold"........

Big Deal Neil is out on the island after just one month - must have been that Tom Poti signing.......Garth Snow, the fishstix sieve emeritus, has been named as the new GM - you just have to love Charles Wang.......bring back the fisherman logo !!!

It would really suck if you were a Knicks & fishtix fan.......

How did Kate Hudson suddenly get so smoking hot without my noticing ???

I thunk that Shaun White was not playing the other night on the ESPY's - I thunk he really was completely overwhelmed by Carmen Electra and her cleavage.......the only reason I watched the ESPY's was to catch a glimpse of Asley Judd - she is back on my list and not coming off it......

I either broke or dislocated my little toe last night - either way it hurts like hell.....

Natalie Gulbis truly is the Anna Kournikova of women's golf.....not that I am complaining......

Will Tiger's animosity toward Nick Faldo help or hurt his game this week at the British - I thunk it will help.....

From what I saw last week, she does not at 16 years old have the mental toughness that is needed nor does she have a consistent enough putting game to continue these fruitless attempts at making a PGA cut.

The Most was not on again this morning and my cable company id screen said Scarborough Country - time for a nasty email to Dan Abrams & MSNBC - if they didn't have some cute news bunnies, I would never watch them......at least it wasn't smug little tucker carlson at 4am.......

the yanks picked up Sidney Ponson - better order the ticker tape now........Mets on the cover of SI this week - I'm telling myself that I don't believe in jinxes.......

Still no Leetch.........

Black Wind is proving to be a painful & painless read at the same time - still too formulaic and it is amazing (well, maybe not) that young Dirk has the same skill set and depth of knowledge at an early stage of his career that it took his father to get over time (and many, many novels). It's like they might as well have called it the Young Dirk Pitt Chronicles. I wonder how Al feels about being made over as a 6 foot hot redhead ???? Still, it makes for great read on the train.....suspend your belief......

Read that a CNBC empty suit news reader read a story on air that Pirates 2 had broken the box office record recently set by Aquaman - you just have to hope that HBO buys the rights to that footage for the Entourage finale this year..........

Jim Edmonds hit an HR last night to keep the Matthews Curse in Diamond Daily alive......

Saw Throwdown with Bobby Flay last night and it was good. I will definitely continue to catch this show when I can - glad to see him get his butt kicked in the Wedding Cake Challenge and I need to download both Chowders.....I still say, C'mon Bobby - throw down on me !!!!

according to the Denver Post countdown clock - the Broncos kick off the preseason against Detroit in 28 Days 11 Hours and 51 Minutes........

Say Hey Willie Mays. 7:40.Propel berry

I have over 1100 songs on my ipod - so why did I get 3 English Beat songs in the first 16 of a new shuffle ????? And I thunk my ipod has also been effected by the weather since it has been playing a lot of reggae and island style grooves in the last 2 days........

Glad to see that Paris Hilton's attempt at singing has finally fallen out of the itunes top 10...

Good morning to miss my workout. Only game last night was the WNBA all-star game which did make for an interesting crowd on my late train home........of course, now I don't know if the Most was on this morning or if I would have been forced to watch some other brain dead msnbc show.....i miss Contessa Brewer.........

Do you thunk that Zidane really believes what he is saying ?????

So Danica to NASCAR is a pipe dream at this point. I can see her giving NASCAR a try in a few years but she will never have the support of the female fans - they won't leave their men until someone in the Gretchen Wilson mold makes her way up through the Craftsman Truck series et al........looks like Montoya may be a few weeks later in his Busch debut too.........

speaking of later than we thunked, the Sopranos has been pushed back to March at the earliest - it seems that Tony's knee surgery and the contract holdouts delayed the start of production so it will delay the season. What's another 2 months ?

Shanahan looks good in Broadway Blue.....so would Brian Leetch - hint hint Slats........

Throwdown with Bobby Flay starts tonight - Bobby walks in and challenges chefs to a cook-off......Hey Bobby - I will throwdown with you anytime........

Hamilton Farm Golf Club has officially ended their association with the HSBC Women's Match Play Championships - I hope it stays in the area because I would love to take my girls with me next year.....

I am afraid to go out and look at my tomatoes after yesterday's storms - I had branches sticking out of the yard this morning........

I always wanted to live in Houston and now all I have to do is step outside my office building and I am there without having to take a flight - it's like walking smack into a hot sponge.......

I'm sitting here thinkin', sitting here drinkin' 'bout you......swampy abides

Bob Griese. 7:38.Propel Berry.

Why is there still no word about the Rangers signing Brian Leetch ? This is a no-brainer. I see that some of his detractors say that he has lost it and would not be an effective QB for the Power Play based on his play the last 2 seasons and I say that Bobby Orr himself would have sucked if he had been on that Bruins squad last year or even on the Rangers pre-strike. I will give him a pass for Toronto since he was still getting over the shock of actually getting traded. Sign him to a one year deal and then bump him upstairs with Graves in the PR department and have him do some coaching/tutoring on the side. He needs to retire in Broadway Blue. Do it now Slats !!!!

Eddie Murphy is dating Scary Spice......I don't even know where to begin......

The Contender returns to ESPN next Tuesday Night - No Sly & No Mark Burnett - this should be good - they are all Welterweights this time around.....

David Wright looks more & more like Roy Hobbes every game......please keep him away from Barbara Hershey and Kim Basinger......Wright was also the only batter I saw in the All-Star game last night - looked just like he did the night before parking his shot in the LF seats.....

Elvis parked next to me so to honor that momentous occasion, I played Burning Love on my ipod as my first song.......

speaking of ipods, Michelle Wie has Korean Music on hers right now - who cares ???? She still needs to work on her putting......

Phil Jackson. Didn't look. 7:33.Cascade Crash.

Came up one homer short on my David Wright prediction for last night.....

Still don't know why the Rangers haven't signed leetch yet. You just know that Big Deal Neil is dangling something in front of him and the word id that the devils are too but there has to be something against the laws of nature & hockey that says that Brian Leetch cannot wear a devils or fishstix jersey....ever......

Sounds like McPheever is turning into quite the Diva - and she is getting a shot on "The View".....

How happy are the Arizona Cardinals with reports that Matt Leinart is still hanging with Paris Hilton ? How much has Ashley Lelie hurt his career with his idiotic stance and mini-camp no-show ? I would take a used bag of practice balls for him right now.......can the jets QB picture get any muddier ? Have a soft spot for Chad but I thunk the kid from Oregon is the QB off the future so he might as well start being the QB now.......I still love the thunk of Aaron Brooks as the starting QB for the raiders.......don't miss a repeat of the season opener of "Making the Squad" on the NFL channel on Friday night - it's the Charger Girls this year........the Texans should send Roger Clemens some season tickets for taking the spotlight off of them and their non-pick of Reggie Bush - of course if the Rocket doesn't start winning then the eyes of texas will start to sneak peeks back at them - most of the eyes though will be on the cowpokies and the TO-Parcells relationship - you just know that TO will be killing bledsoe in the press by Game 6.......Ron Dayne & Tatum Bell scare me a lot more than they scare the rest of the NFL.....can you tell I miss football ?????

Fried Eggs don't taste the same without hot sauce.........and Spicy Ranch dressing is a misnomer - they need me to show them how it should be done.....

Ricky Bobby - I'm just shaking my head about the fact that I will actually have to pay to see a Will ferrell movie - Leslie Bibb does look smoking hot in this one too - I remember her from her scrawny days on "The Big Easy" on USA - she has grown up......

JJ Yeley.212.wrong direction.7:36.Glacier Freeze.

Peter Tosh - Pick Myself Up - this morning's iPod shuffle song

Only Zidane will ever know what he was thinking at the 110 mark.

Viva Italia ! A cross bar made the ultimate difference in a great finals game to watch. I still think the best goal of the tornament belonged to the Rodriguez of Argentina in the OT win over Mexico - instant ESPY moment.......the US was an embarassment and probably set big time soccer back in the US another 10 years......where are they playing in 2010 ???

Shanahan signs with the Rangers - a few years too late but still a quality signing - in no way is this like one of the Fat Cat Rangers signings of the past.....of course he did play for the Devils once upon a time.....speaking of former devils, Petr Sykora's asking price just went down......and thank you Neil Smith, you can have Tom Poti........

HR Derby tonight - always good background viewing while doing other more important things like reading the paper or playing the bills - got to be pulling for my main Met and early Thunks favorite, David Wright........

speaking of Thunks favorites, Hats Off to Brittany Lincicombe rout of Michelle Wie and her winning of the HSBC Women's Match Play Championship this weekend at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, NJ. Yours truly was there on Saturday to see all the action and watch Brittany come out of realtive obscurity to bang & putt her way to the $500K. Walked to the #1 Tee Box with her before her match with Michelle Wie and she was loose, smiling and signing autographs. Told her to "Take it to her. Her putting is weak." and I am sure that my comment made all the difference. Funny to read in the paper that the rake boys were hitting on her in the player shuttle cart as they tried to find the media tent. Was actually pulling for Paula Creamer myself but the second 18 on Saturday against Karrie Webb really took it out of her. Her father & uncle are class acts......stood next to Mama Wie - cold dragon lady - Papa Wie has big hair and seems very detached from the surroundings - Michelle is like an automatron and seems pre-progammed - the wide open fairways here were perfect for her banging game but her putting is abysmal at best - it's a joke that she is playing the John Deere this week.......Juli Inkster had a great match with Annika but she tired on Sunday too....too bad the Championships are leaving this venue - I hope they wind up down the road at Trump so I can take the little swampthings with me next year........

Pirates beat the 2nd place movie by slightly over $110m - I need to see this movie.......

TV viewing was lame this AM - I am so glad that I discovered that trash like INSIDE EDITION is on........

It's Monday and I wish it were Friday.....swampy abides
