Peter Tosh - Pick Myself Up - this morning's iPod shuffle song

Only Zidane will ever know what he was thinking at the 110 mark.

Viva Italia ! A cross bar made the ultimate difference in a great finals game to watch. I still think the best goal of the tornament belonged to the Rodriguez of Argentina in the OT win over Mexico - instant ESPY moment.......the US was an embarassment and probably set big time soccer back in the US another 10 years......where are they playing in 2010 ???

Shanahan signs with the Rangers - a few years too late but still a quality signing - in no way is this like one of the Fat Cat Rangers signings of the past.....of course he did play for the Devils once upon a time.....speaking of former devils, Petr Sykora's asking price just went down......and thank you Neil Smith, you can have Tom Poti........

HR Derby tonight - always good background viewing while doing other more important things like reading the paper or playing the bills - got to be pulling for my main Met and early Thunks favorite, David Wright........

speaking of Thunks favorites, Hats Off to Brittany Lincicombe rout of Michelle Wie and her winning of the HSBC Women's Match Play Championship this weekend at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, NJ. Yours truly was there on Saturday to see all the action and watch Brittany come out of realtive obscurity to bang & putt her way to the $500K. Walked to the #1 Tee Box with her before her match with Michelle Wie and she was loose, smiling and signing autographs. Told her to "Take it to her. Her putting is weak." and I am sure that my comment made all the difference. Funny to read in the paper that the rake boys were hitting on her in the player shuttle cart as they tried to find the media tent. Was actually pulling for Paula Creamer myself but the second 18 on Saturday against Karrie Webb really took it out of her. Her father & uncle are class acts......stood next to Mama Wie - cold dragon lady - Papa Wie has big hair and seems very detached from the surroundings - Michelle is like an automatron and seems pre-progammed - the wide open fairways here were perfect for her banging game but her putting is abysmal at best - it's a joke that she is playing the John Deere this week.......Juli Inkster had a great match with Annika but she tired on Sunday too....too bad the Championships are leaving this venue - I hope they wind up down the road at Trump so I can take the little swampthings with me next year........

Pirates beat the 2nd place movie by slightly over $110m - I need to see this movie.......

TV viewing was lame this AM - I am so glad that I discovered that trash like INSIDE EDITION is on........

It's Monday and I wish it were Friday.....swampy abides
