It is just a few days away from the beginning of that most wonderful time in college football called “Bowl Season”. Games being played in ridiculous places - with sponsors we have never heard of before - between teams that could care less about putting on the pads some 4 to 6 weeks after their season has already ended. Records just this side of mediocre – who could ask for more ? My picks are in BOLD

12/19 – Poinsettia Bowl – TCU (10-2) vs Northern Illinois (7-5) – the only reason to watch this game is because it is the first game . Or maybe to see that RB from Northern Illinois – what his name

12/21 – Las Vegas Bowl – BYU (10-2) vs Oregon (7-5) – despite their record the Ducks are tougher than they appear – still looks like tread marks on their unis – Vegas is the perfect place for a road tripping mormon to lapse – Mormons Gone Wild !!!!

12/22 – New Orleans Bowl – Troy (7-5) vs Rice (7-5)- at least they both have winning records – where is Troy anyway and didn’t they use to be Troy State ???

12/23 – Papajohn’s.com Bowl – South Florida (8-4) vs East Carolina (7-5) – for to go with the Bulls over the Pirates and did you know that Red Bull isn’t really red ?

12/23 – New Mexico Bowl – New Mexico (6-6) vs San Jose State (8-4) – only someone from San Jose could be excited about going to Albuquerque – home field will rule for the game that should be re-named “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl”

12/23 – Armed Forces Bowl – Tulsa (8-4) vs Utah (7-5) – what a sorry excuse for the triple header capper – if you are still watching football at this point you may need your chair surgically removed from your ass

12/24 – Hawaii Bowl – Arizona State (7-5) vs Hawaii (10-3) – ASU gets the reward of a trip to Honolulu for playing the patsy to Hawaii – I would not be upset about playing in this game at all – that QB for Hawaii is fun to watch too

12/26 – Motor City Bowl – Central Michigan (9-4) vs Middle Tennessee State (7-5) - “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl II”

12/27 – Emerald Bowl – Florida State (6-6) vs UCLA (7-5) – once upon a time this was a good game – maybe even a great game – now it is a pathetic afterthought – FSU should have said no to playing in a Bowl Game this year – I love to see Bobby Bowden lose – except for when FSU plays Miami of course

12/28 – Independence Bowl – Oklahoma State (6-6) vs Alabama (6-6) – how did the for Poulan Weedeater Bowl get saddled with this match up ? This truly is mediocrity at best. At least they gambling in nearby Bossier City.

12/28 – Holiday Bowl – California (9-3) vs Texas A&M (9-3) – finally a better than good game to watch and watch I will – tell all the aggie jokes you want – Mom was a Golden Bear – Go Oscie Go !!!

12/28 – Texas Bowl – Rutgers (10-2) vs Kansas State (7-5) – Louisville beats West Virginia and Rutgers beats Louisville and West Virgina beats Rutgers – and this the reward for the Scarlet Knights ? no respect I tell ya – no respect

12/29 – Music City Bowl – Clemson (8-4) vs Kentucky (7-5) – remember when Clemson beat Georgia Tech and ESPN Gameday was there and they talked about Clemson’s BCS possibilities ? Nashville is a lot farther away from Glendale than even Google earth thinks it is.

12/29 - Sun Bowl – Missouri (8-4) vs Oregon State (9-4) – despite being punished by being sent to El Paso, this has the potential to be a decent game to watch – Mizzou was on a roll but faded when the college football world started to take notice of them and Oregon State slayed the National Title hopes of USC – much to the Rose Bowl’s delight

12/29 – Liberty Bowl – South Carolina (7-5) vs Houston (10-3) – I love to see Steve Spurrier lose

12/29 – Insight Bowl – Minnesota (6-6) vs Texas Tech (7-5) – how excited was Tempe when they got stuck with this match-up ? the game is on the NFL Network so most of the country won’t be subjected to it.

12/29 – Champs Sports Bowl – Maryland (8-4) vs Purdue (8-5) – Purdue’s fifth loss was in Hawaii to Hawaii – doesn’t count – Maryland had a shot at the ACC title but a lot of mediocre teams did too.

12/30 – Meineke Car Care Bowl – Navy (9-3) vs Boston College (9-3) – the battle of the gold helmets !!! – BC was another ACC also ran – I never get tired of watching the Flutie Hail Mary Pass – I may even watch this promising match-up

12/30 - Alamo Bowl – Iowa (6-6) vs Texas (9-3) – talk about how far the mighty have fallen ? Texas should be able to sleep walk through this mess

12/30 – Chick-Fil-A Bowl – Virginia Tech (10-2) vs Georgia (8-4) – the Bulldogs may be the worst 8-4 team in the country – G logos on cars all over the place here in Atlanta – eat more chikin’

12/31 – MPC Computers Bowl – Nevada (8-4) vs Miami (6-6) – BLUE FIELD !!!! New Year’s Eve in Boise – what a great sendoff for Larry Coker – I can only hope it starts to snow in the 4th quarter so the team’s plane can’t take off

1/1 – Outback Bowl – Penn State (8-4) vs Tennessee (9-3) – interesting game – Joe Pa should be on the sidelines – I am looking into the rumors that he is going to be borrowing the PopeMobile

1/1 – Cotton Bowl – Auburn (10-2) vs Nebraska (9-4) – I hate Nebraska. I hate everything about Nebraska. If I never set foot in the state of Nebraska again in my lifetime it will be too soon. I really want auburn to win. And they will.

1/1 – Capital One Bowl – Wisconsin (11-1) vs Arkansas (10-3) – the badgers have to be one of the least impressive 11-1 teams I have ever seen – that is if they had actually kept me interested enough to watch – McFadden is going to be a very rich young man soon and the old Southwest Conference will smile from the great beyond

1/1 – Gator Bowl – Georgia Tech (9-4) vs West Virginia (10-2) – two BCS Wannabe’s who couldn’t seal the deal when they needed to – the Rambling Wreck was just that this year and will end the season in the same way

1/1 – Rose Bowl – Michigan (11-1) vs USC (10-2) – Old School – this game is going to be the best game so to date and maybe the best game of the whole shooting match – went to the Rose Bowl 16 years ago – what an experience

1/1 – Fiesta Bowl – Boise State (12-0) vs Oklahoma (11-2) – My BCS Championship Game – easily the absolute biggest game in Broncos history – Ian Johnson is going to get to showcase himself on the national stage – Oklahoma was really just one bad “home” call away from being included in the National Championship conversations

1/2 - Orange Bowl – Wake Forest (11-2) vs Louisville (11-1) – this will be a fun game to watch – Louisville is never boring and they love to run & pass – I still think they played better with the back-up under center while Brohm was hurt – Wake survived the “rugged” ACC but can it survive it’s national spotlight debut ?

1/3 – Sugar Bowl – LSU (10-2) vs Notre Dame (10-2) – Everything I said about Nebraksa could be said about Notre Dame – I don’t like South Bend but I did stay in the Holiday Inn just off of Route 80 every time I dove cross country back in the 80’s – I will never forget the night I lay awake all night listening to the couple in the next room go at it like a couple of teenagers all night long – but I digress – LSU thought they were going to Pasdena – they will now get a chance to show their “home” crowd that the BCS should have sent them west

1/6 – International Bowl - Cincinnati (7-5) vs Western Michigan (8-4) - “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl III” - if you are watching this game, you need to get out of your parent’s basement and get some fresh air

1/7 – GMAC Bowl – Southern Mississippi (8-5) vs Ohio (9-4) - “The you should be ashamed of yourself for watching this Bowl IV” – if you are watching this game than you must be a degenerate gambler and somebody needs to stage an intervention – but let’s wait until halftime to see how the bets are riding

1/8 – BCS National Championship Game – Ohio State (12-0) vs Florida (12-1) – it is not exactly a game that I am all that excited to watch – I will have it on but won’t be watching it watching it……Gators deserve to be there as much as Michigan but we already saw OSU vs MICH and no on wants to see a re-match – Florida will try to keep it close but Ohio State is just too fast and Troy Smith does not know how to lose – make room in the trophy case for another large chunk of glass

Originally posted on Monday 12/11 on myspace

I wouldn't say that my Broncos are done just yet - they still have 3 very winnable games in Arizona, Cincy & SF - but I will say I have started digging in the silverware drawer for a fork........I know the irrational temptation is to clamor for the return of Jake but this team needs Jay Cutler to play as much as he can as soon as he can.....interesting that Tatum Bell has become a real running back the last 2 weeks - only a matter of time before he breaks again.....and Tony Scheffler's time on the scout team finally paid off in the 2nd half......

Does anyone not think that the Chargers are going to win the SuperDuperBowl ? Should be fun to watch them run it up on KC next week too......LT will get another 3 TD's easily........

The Colts are exposed as the pretender that they are - no NFL team can expect to be taken seriously if they give up 375 yards on the ground - not even a bad college team like Army gives up that much per week - great week to have Maurice Jones-Drew in your fantasy line-up and yes, I did......

Cincy has it's destiny in it's own hands but they have to beat an embarrassed Colts team first and then they have to go beat Denver in Denver - which hasn't been that hard this year - Ocho Cinco & Who'syourmamma make a nasty WR tandem and as long as players keep getting arrested, the Bengals keep winning.........Oakland is just plain sorry and should have just saved everyone the trouble yesterday and conceded to the bengals before the opening kickoff.........

Did anyone else feel a warm feeling in the pit of their football bellies as we watched Drew Brees light up the cowpokies like a Bourbon Street Bum on a half smoked butt.......Reggie Bush has made his opponents the last 2 weeks look like Fresno State.....don't see how they don't get to the Conference Championship game if they can get the home Dome advantage - America wants to see them win.......

speaking of Rookies who are starting to make a major difference, Vince Young went into Houston yesterday and left with an absolutely spectacular TD run to win the game in OT - I would love to see the replay and check to see if he either slipped Mario Williams or juked him out of his jock.....I love Gary Kubiak but his ownership really slipped him a raw deal with that first round debacle at the draft last year.......the rest of the AFC better hope that the wild card slots don't slip to 9-7 because the Titans are playing some mighty scary ball right about now........

the less said about the NY Giants the better........Chris Weinke threw 61 times ? Has his arm fallen off yet today ?.....Carolina was a pre-season super bowl pick (probably for me) and now they look like picked over trash - even Superman Steve Smith can't save them from golf in early January......

How are the Eagles still a wild card contender ? Oh yeah, the NFC stinks - that's how........

Miami shuts out the Pats as Tom Brady continues his South Beach futility - rumor has it that he is visited by the ghost of Tara Reid every time he plays there - must be true because he plays like he has been out all night with a drunken chick with lopsided implants........watching the Saints game last night you just know Nick Saban was still loving that Daunte over Drew signing from this past offseason.......

Vikings don't seem to be missing Daunte but then they did play the Lions.....

Seattle proved again yesterday why they are not a SuperDuperBowl contender in their loss to Arizona - obviously Denny Green knew exactly who they were too - not often you can say that about the only man that can almost make Art Shell look good by comparison.......

Brett Favre is 7 TD's away from Dan Marino - does anyone but Peter King care ??????

The J-E-T-SJETSJETSJETS blew a great chance yesterday to put the pressure on the Pats in the AFC Least - instead they let a sick Willis McGahee vomit all over them again - this was nowhere near the same team that killed on the frozen tundra - this team just looked more like roadkill.....

Baltimore, based on recent history, should have been roadkill in KC since the Chiefs (worst fans in the league - at least from this Broncos fan perspective) had won 18 straight at home in December - but then the Chiefs had never had Herm Edwards as their coach in KC in December before......Baltimore's record may get them home field but they have no chance to get to Miami in February.....I am still having trouble with SI for anointing Ray Lewis as "God's Linebacker" on a recent cover........

so which game did I miss ? Oh yeah, Atlanta beat Tampa - I think ESPN gave that game about the same amount of coverage that I just did.....

Chicago is at St. Louis tonight and I will be watch either "How I met your mother" & "Two and a Half Men" or the live action version "The Year without a Santa Clause" - which looks like a typical hollywood clusterfrick - rather than watching Rex Grossman try to give away the game to the Lambs.........Chicago 37 St. Louis 13

It was a statement game but was it the Broncos saying “We aren’t that bad.” Or was it the Pats saying “We aren’t that good.” ?

Charlie Batch 1-0 Evel Knievel 0-2

The Jets may be the most entertaining underrated bunch of overachievers in the league.

Don’t let the score fool you – the Giants suck – keep talking Shockey – New York loves a loudmouth

I don’t like Chris Simms (and I hated his father) but you have to admire finishing a game with a busted spleen

Kurt Warner, meet Joe Pisarcik. It’s just too bad that Warner didn’t fumble the ball against the Chiefs

I still don’t think Da Bears are for real.

I dread reading “Monday Morning QB” by Peter King today – he is going to be fellating Brett Favre again – I just know it………

Peyton Manning ran for a TD ? I run from the TV any time I see one of his commercials come on…..again……

No T.O. this weekend and the world did not stop spinning…….

The Dolphins eliminated me last year in my suicide pool and almost did again this year……

The Iggles got well in SF but where was Donte Stallworth ? He killed my fantasy team this week…….

The Raiders should petition the league for 16 Bye weeks – at least they didn’t get blown out

A few college notes – Charlie Weis is really fat and he is really lucky (this week)……I turned my back on the TV for 2 seconds and Cal scored 28 points – what the ????......I’m starting to like Louisville a lot – West Virginia does nothing for me………Auburn vs Ohio State would be fun championship game……Joe Pa should have stayed in the head……..and Rutgers is in the Top 25 (# 23) – what is the world coming to ?

New Orleans 31 Atlanta 27 – the Crescent City falls deeper in love with Reggie Bush…….

Swampy is back !!!! Like anyone really cares........

I have been so depressed over the final result of the St. Louis weekend that I just couldn't write.........

actually I just had too many meetings and too much work but now I am sitting in my hotel room in Chicago and I am watching Survivor - next week I tape Survivor and WATCH Earl & The Office......

but back to STL......The Arch is a ripoff but I could see the casino from up there......LaClede's Landing has some good little restaurants & bars with one seriously hot buxom bartender in a tattered denim micro-mini at Joey B's - too bad the TV befind her was screwed up and I really wanted to watch the OSU-UT game but considering the outcome I should have stayed at the bar.........The Casino Queen is a dive of a riverboat casino - and I have been on some bad ones - I'm looking at you Lake Charles - but I did win $200 at the Roulette Wheel playing with the pink chips.....I think that the sequined, spray on tanned, 80's hair, mid 30's cougars on the prowl didn't think that swampy was greasy enough for them until they noticed my chips as I got ready to cash out......I had almost the same growth and I did have the same hat on but backwards........Sexual Suspects on Showtime was a horrible movie that wanted to be porn but wasn't - it would have been funnier if it had been........the buffet breakfast at our hotel stunk but we probably should have gotten there a little bit earlier.......the Ed Jones Dome is nothing to write home about but it does have the new turf that almost looks like dirt.......

and onto the football game.......Jake played like he wanted Jay to play - best sight of the weekend was after the game when I met a married couple on the train, the wife wore a Jake jersey and the husband wore a Jay jersey, I am sure that will lead to some interesting conversations in their home but I digress.......Mike Bell, Tatum Bell - doesn't look like it matters....Javon got open but he couldn't catch the ball......did I hint at the fact that Jake sucked ?......the D looked solid - I can't bitch about 6 FG's and No TD's.......kick returns have never been a strong point but you have to get past the 23 yard line.......guess i have no choice but to accept 15-1 this year instead of 16-0.....and now I have been to a game in STL so that is a stadium and a city that is now off the list (not that it had a very high spot on that list to start with).........

I could win Survivor and I could win The Amazing Race.....too bad mortgages don't pay themselves........

Hey Crab Man !!!!

Why hasn't Miranda Lambert made me her friend yet ? I bought her CD as soon as it came out.......Why Ran ? Why ?

the commute has been rougher this week and catching a 6:30 flight this morning just made it tougher......

I finished "A Salty Piece of Land" and I couldn't help but notice how many times Jimmy Buffett usedlines from his songs in his book - I hadn't noticed it in his other books - I guess that this book is the fictional autobiography of Jimmy Buffett - I would love to do that and maybe I will in bits & pieces, in thinks & thunks - Tully Mars is Jimmy and swampy is me.....now go get a boat drink.......

I still say Suri was photoshopped and that Annie Liebovitz sold out......

why is Paris relevant ?

*SPOILER ALERT* - the black tribe just made a big mistake......

LOST starts October 4 and that just is not soon enough.........

Why do I get FHM & Maxim ? I haven't paid for Maxim in years and I have never paid for FHM - I still liked GEAR the best but that is probably because of the Jessica Biel nipple slip and the Brandi Chastain soccer ball shot but I digress again - the articles in both suck and this month the chicks in FHM were ugly until we got to the Hometown Honey section - oh and the "She's Your Sister" shot though at 20 years old I felt dirty looking at her - almost.........

The Casino Queen made me miss Vegas and the potential that every weekend there has........
the longer I sit here the more likely I am to order room service even though there is nothing on the menu that I really want........I just looked again and nothing appeals to me but I will have to find something........

cooking up some thunks.....

been thunking up some different ideas in the kicthen....have a ton of tomatoes, of varying kinds, that are coming out of the garden and making their way into the kitchen. I can only eat so many straight salads so what to do, what to....here's one using salmon burgers from the frozen seafood section of Costco (maybe the best buy in the store).....

chop up a bunch of tomatoes (I used red & yellow plums) and toss them into a saute pan - olive oil, salt, pepper, a couple of pinches of cumin, a pinch of ginger, a handful of chopped onion and some cilantro......saute down over a low heat - when the tomatoes have turned to a sauce take the 2 salmon burger patties and place them in the pan and cover.....turn in 5 to 7 minutes and spoon some of the mixture over the salmon burgers........in another 5 minutes flip the burgers and cover with slices of colby jack cheese - cover pan and turn off heat.....when cheese has melted - serve - would go well with something like yellow rice.......

or this......

bake a red pepper tortilla in a salad bowl pan until crisp - set aside......4 yellow & red plum tomatoes and 6 red, orange & yellow cherry tomatoes, 1 large carrot, half a red or yellow pepper and 1 celery stalk.....leave the tomatoes whole and cut the carrot, pepper & celery into chunks.......spray them with Olive Oil Pam and salt & pepper.....throw them on the grill and slowly roast them for 20+/- minutes - in the meantime, throw 2 chicken sausages (I used chicken & mango) on the grill and julienne a handful of iceberg lettuce......throw some shredded cheddar into the bottom of the tortilla bowl and add the lettuce - add chopped roasted vegetables - sprinkle with Tabsco Chipotle Sauce - add chopped hardboiled egg and sliced sauasage - top with Spicy Ranch Dressing and mix - enjoy.......

was at the driving range today slicing the hell out of my new rescue clubs when i realized the guy at the spot next to me was actually playing a full game - he would consult a yardage book, select a club, hit the shot, consult the yardage book, select a club and then aim for one of the flags in the range - if he landed it on the green he went back to his driver - if he missed the green, he broke out the sand or lob wedge........I wonder what course he was playing ??????

just watched Rounders - not bad but not the seminal movie that a person could be led to believe that it is - I'm not a poker player so that probably had a lot to do with it - at least now I will understand the references and be able to keep up in a conversation - glad I saw it......

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is next......

no ipod song of the day but i do have to say that you should head over to CMT to catch Megan Mullins and her new video and her Studio 330 Session - and what a great series that is - deserving of it's own thunks at some point..........

I thunked that Robby Gordon was going to push his way through to victory in the Busch Series race at Watkins Glen this afternoon - a sign of things to come tomorrow ?
Haven't seen the NFL Network replay yet but I hear the Jay Cutler looked very good against the Lions - don't know about Mike Bell yet - let me know if you know.......need to get my 3 fantasy football leagues set up this weekend and I need to clean my desk........it's more fun splitting firewood.....

still having trouble with the thunk of Paris Hilton being celibate for a year.....Lindsay Lohan has a better chance of staying sober for a year......(cheap search engine ploy)

3 new "Losties" joining the cast but as for who & how - keep guessing.....

how out of touch was I to not know that Bon Jovi had a torrid affair with Diane Lane and that "You give love a bad name" was written about her......i still think she is smoking hot.........

started a Jimmy Buffett novel today but that was before I remembered that I have a James Lee Burke waiting in the wings - Jimmy may just have to wait.........

come back tomorrow when a try out another freeform new recipe - Cheesy Crab & Tomato Pie........

Earl Morrall.7:33.Citrus Cooler.Dawn of Fury.

Mythbusters is tacking the Diet Coke & Mentos phenomenom tonight

Back to Dawn of Fury - this is the first in the Nathan Stone Trilogy and to be honest, if the books hadn't been purchased with a gift card, I doubt I would have continued with Books 2 & 3 - they say he is reminiscent of Louis L'Amour but only in his settings.......

What in God's name did Maurice Clarett need 4 loaded guns (one an AK-47) and a kevlar vest for anyway ??????

ipod SOD yesterday was Mirror in the Bathroom by the English Beat....today it was "Double Bogey Blues" from Tin Cup

Download Shawn Mullins' "Beautiful Wreck" now if you haven't already......

Cat Cora is really forcing it in her FHM pictorial - does not compare with the original Rachel Ray photo shoot for STUFF. (I thunk)

Yesterday's ipod shuffle song of the day was "Stealin' Watermelons" by Elvin Bishop - haven't heard today's song yet.......

Mike Bell - yet another no name RB making waves in the Broncos backfield......Cutler moves into the #2 slot and Jake starts to feel the heat......when is Ashley Lelie going to be traded and will we get more than a 7th round pick for him now ?

I was a little late to the Gnarls Barkley Party but "Crazy" is a great song - are any of his other tunes on par with that one ? My ipod wants to know.......

Missed The Contender last week so I can't wait to see it tonight and again tomorrow morning during my workout.....

I had forgotten how much I hatre to do laundry and iron clothes.......

Britney & KFed just keep getting more & more entertaining - they should just be put in a biosphere so we can all watch them from a distance like animals at the zoo.......her accent gets more trailer park the more she drinks........

I still miss The Most..........

Zeke signed another small forward ! He needs to be put in a biosphere too........

Starting reading "Peter & the Shadow Thieves" to my kids last week - now I can't wait for them to get home so we can finish the book.........

I thunk it will be re-heated crawfish pies for dinner tonight........

The Accenture ad with the tag line "Go on. Be a Tiger." cracks me up for reason you have to know me to know....

Heard that Kat broke her foot now on tour but she will still be singing - just no woooden dancing on flashing the crowd in that slit up to there yellow dress......bummer

Mets still in first by a mile - it will get chilly in Shea this year.....

Football is back but it was the raiders.......Broncos kick off the preseason on Friday night in Detroit - time to move my tv viewing to the basement tv and the NFL network.....

Still haven't made the Sports Guy's mailbag but I didn't try this time either......

$208m Powerball winner was from Wisconsin - what a waste - if I had won, I would have come back to work to clean out my desk and that is it.....

Handicap dropped from 14.3 to 13.5 - I guess I should play more often....

LJM sighting this morning !
Elvis sighting at the train station !
CSI sighting on the train !!!
It was a good morning for people watching.......

Lance Bass is Gay ? What a surprise......

I have 1,360 songs saved on my iPod at the moment. Two of those songs are "Incident on 57th Street" and "Rosalita" both by Bruce Springsteen and both need to be played as one in order to get their full effect. Nearly impossible when you have your ipod set to shuffle. They played within 2 songs of each other yesterday afternoon on my way home. This morning it played 3 songs by Iz during my 24 song commute........

Scott Gomez has always hurt the Rangers in the past and now his arbitration award is going to hurt the devils - I love it......

The 5th & Final round of last night's "The Contender" was great - I know that boxing purists say they hate the show beacuse they don't show the whole fight but watching those two stand toe to toe and flail away at each other from all different angles was great viewing - especially at 4:45am when I watched - thank you ESPN......

Why would anyone pay to read "classic" Maureen Dowd columns in the NYT ? Do they need to see for themselves again how wrong she is almost all the time ?

The Rangers and Las Panteras are going to play an exhibition game in Puerto Rico this fall. If the NHL wanted to reach out to the Puerto Rican market, why didn't they just play the game in the South Bronx ? Ay caramba.......

Darius Watts. 7:44! Propel Strawberry-Kiwi. Black Wind.

Tiger is back. He ripped a 7 under 65 today and has a 3 shot lead so far. Leaderboard is definitely going to be ratings friendly for the weekend.

So what is all the uproar about trading Dominic Moore ? The Rangers have been a little crowded at Center anyway and they have some kids with more of a nose for the net coming up through the system. Hall has some size and has shown that he can score. I don't see how anyone can even begin to not see this as a big win for the Rangers. I would like to see Rucinsky get signed but I have a feeling that his ego is going to get in the way (like it already has) and this deal is not going to get done. I bet he winds up in Pittsburgh for pennies on the dollar.

NFL Rookies are starting to report and the Thunks will start to turn a little more football centric.....

They are going to start selling ads on the Front Page of the WSJ - $248K will get you the lower right corner or the strip at the bottom of the page - me thunks it's only a matter of time before a few more shekels will land you "above the fold"........

Big Deal Neil is out on the island after just one month - must have been that Tom Poti signing.......Garth Snow, the fishstix sieve emeritus, has been named as the new GM - you just have to love Charles Wang.......bring back the fisherman logo !!!

It would really suck if you were a Knicks & fishtix fan.......

How did Kate Hudson suddenly get so smoking hot without my noticing ???

I thunk that Shaun White was not playing the other night on the ESPY's - I thunk he really was completely overwhelmed by Carmen Electra and her cleavage.......the only reason I watched the ESPY's was to catch a glimpse of Asley Judd - she is back on my list and not coming off it......

I either broke or dislocated my little toe last night - either way it hurts like hell.....

Natalie Gulbis truly is the Anna Kournikova of women's golf.....not that I am complaining......

Will Tiger's animosity toward Nick Faldo help or hurt his game this week at the British - I thunk it will help.....

From what I saw last week, she does not at 16 years old have the mental toughness that is needed nor does she have a consistent enough putting game to continue these fruitless attempts at making a PGA cut.

The Most was not on again this morning and my cable company id screen said Scarborough Country - time for a nasty email to Dan Abrams & MSNBC - if they didn't have some cute news bunnies, I would never watch them......at least it wasn't smug little tucker carlson at 4am.......

the yanks picked up Sidney Ponson - better order the ticker tape now........Mets on the cover of SI this week - I'm telling myself that I don't believe in jinxes.......

Still no Leetch.........

Black Wind is proving to be a painful & painless read at the same time - still too formulaic and it is amazing (well, maybe not) that young Dirk has the same skill set and depth of knowledge at an early stage of his career that it took his father to get over time (and many, many novels). It's like they might as well have called it the Young Dirk Pitt Chronicles. I wonder how Al feels about being made over as a 6 foot hot redhead ???? Still, it makes for great read on the train.....suspend your belief......

Read that a CNBC empty suit news reader read a story on air that Pirates 2 had broken the box office record recently set by Aquaman - you just have to hope that HBO buys the rights to that footage for the Entourage finale this year..........

Jim Edmonds hit an HR last night to keep the Matthews Curse in Diamond Daily alive......

Saw Throwdown with Bobby Flay last night and it was good. I will definitely continue to catch this show when I can - glad to see him get his butt kicked in the Wedding Cake Challenge and I need to download both Chowders.....I still say, C'mon Bobby - throw down on me !!!!

according to the Denver Post countdown clock - the Broncos kick off the preseason against Detroit in 28 Days 11 Hours and 51 Minutes........

Say Hey Willie Mays. 7:40.Propel berry

I have over 1100 songs on my ipod - so why did I get 3 English Beat songs in the first 16 of a new shuffle ????? And I thunk my ipod has also been effected by the weather since it has been playing a lot of reggae and island style grooves in the last 2 days........

Glad to see that Paris Hilton's attempt at singing has finally fallen out of the itunes top 10...

Good morning to miss my workout. Only game last night was the WNBA all-star game which did make for an interesting crowd on my late train home........of course, now I don't know if the Most was on this morning or if I would have been forced to watch some other brain dead msnbc show.....i miss Contessa Brewer.........

Do you thunk that Zidane really believes what he is saying ?????

So Danica to NASCAR is a pipe dream at this point. I can see her giving NASCAR a try in a few years but she will never have the support of the female fans - they won't leave their men until someone in the Gretchen Wilson mold makes her way up through the Craftsman Truck series et al........looks like Montoya may be a few weeks later in his Busch debut too.........

speaking of later than we thunked, the Sopranos has been pushed back to March at the earliest - it seems that Tony's knee surgery and the contract holdouts delayed the start of production so it will delay the season. What's another 2 months ?

Shanahan looks good in Broadway Blue.....so would Brian Leetch - hint hint Slats........

Throwdown with Bobby Flay starts tonight - Bobby walks in and challenges chefs to a cook-off......Hey Bobby - I will throwdown with you anytime........

Hamilton Farm Golf Club has officially ended their association with the HSBC Women's Match Play Championships - I hope it stays in the area because I would love to take my girls with me next year.....

I am afraid to go out and look at my tomatoes after yesterday's storms - I had branches sticking out of the yard this morning........

I always wanted to live in Houston and now all I have to do is step outside my office building and I am there without having to take a flight - it's like walking smack into a hot sponge.......

Bob Griese. 7:38.Propel Berry.

Why is there still no word about the Rangers signing Brian Leetch ? This is a no-brainer. I see that some of his detractors say that he has lost it and would not be an effective QB for the Power Play based on his play the last 2 seasons and I say that Bobby Orr himself would have sucked if he had been on that Bruins squad last year or even on the Rangers pre-strike. I will give him a pass for Toronto since he was still getting over the shock of actually getting traded. Sign him to a one year deal and then bump him upstairs with Graves in the PR department and have him do some coaching/tutoring on the side. He needs to retire in Broadway Blue. Do it now Slats !!!!

Eddie Murphy is dating Scary Spice......I don't even know where to begin......

The Contender returns to ESPN next Tuesday Night - No Sly & No Mark Burnett - this should be good - they are all Welterweights this time around.....

David Wright looks more & more like Roy Hobbes every game......please keep him away from Barbara Hershey and Kim Basinger......Wright was also the only batter I saw in the All-Star game last night - looked just like he did the night before parking his shot in the LF seats.....

Elvis parked next to me so to honor that momentous occasion, I played Burning Love on my ipod as my first song.......

speaking of ipods, Michelle Wie has Korean Music on hers right now - who cares ???? She still needs to work on her putting......

Phil Jackson. Didn't look. 7:33.Cascade Crash.

Came up one homer short on my David Wright prediction for last night.....

Still don't know why the Rangers haven't signed leetch yet. You just know that Big Deal Neil is dangling something in front of him and the word id that the devils are too but there has to be something against the laws of nature & hockey that says that Brian Leetch cannot wear a devils or fishstix jersey....ever......

Sounds like McPheever is turning into quite the Diva - and she is getting a shot on "The View".....

How happy are the Arizona Cardinals with reports that Matt Leinart is still hanging with Paris Hilton ? How much has Ashley Lelie hurt his career with his idiotic stance and mini-camp no-show ? I would take a used bag of practice balls for him right now.......can the jets QB picture get any muddier ? Have a soft spot for Chad but I thunk the kid from Oregon is the QB off the future so he might as well start being the QB now.......I still love the thunk of Aaron Brooks as the starting QB for the raiders.......don't miss a repeat of the season opener of "Making the Squad" on the NFL channel on Friday night - it's the Charger Girls this year........the Texans should send Roger Clemens some season tickets for taking the spotlight off of them and their non-pick of Reggie Bush - of course if the Rocket doesn't start winning then the eyes of texas will start to sneak peeks back at them - most of the eyes though will be on the cowpokies and the TO-Parcells relationship - you just know that TO will be killing bledsoe in the press by Game 6.......Ron Dayne & Tatum Bell scare me a lot more than they scare the rest of the NFL.....can you tell I miss football ?????

Fried Eggs don't taste the same without hot sauce.........and Spicy Ranch dressing is a misnomer - they need me to show them how it should be done.....

Ricky Bobby - I'm just shaking my head about the fact that I will actually have to pay to see a Will ferrell movie - Leslie Bibb does look smoking hot in this one too - I remember her from her scrawny days on "The Big Easy" on USA - she has grown up......

JJ Yeley.212.wrong direction.7:36.Glacier Freeze.

Peter Tosh - Pick Myself Up - this morning's iPod shuffle song

Only Zidane will ever know what he was thinking at the 110 mark.

Viva Italia ! A cross bar made the ultimate difference in a great finals game to watch. I still think the best goal of the tornament belonged to the Rodriguez of Argentina in the OT win over Mexico - instant ESPY moment.......the US was an embarassment and probably set big time soccer back in the US another 10 years......where are they playing in 2010 ???

Shanahan signs with the Rangers - a few years too late but still a quality signing - in no way is this like one of the Fat Cat Rangers signings of the past.....of course he did play for the Devils once upon a time.....speaking of former devils, Petr Sykora's asking price just went down......and thank you Neil Smith, you can have Tom Poti........

HR Derby tonight - always good background viewing while doing other more important things like reading the paper or playing the bills - got to be pulling for my main Met and early Thunks favorite, David Wright........

speaking of Thunks favorites, Hats Off to Brittany Lincicombe rout of Michelle Wie and her winning of the HSBC Women's Match Play Championship this weekend at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, NJ. Yours truly was there on Saturday to see all the action and watch Brittany come out of realtive obscurity to bang & putt her way to the $500K. Walked to the #1 Tee Box with her before her match with Michelle Wie and she was loose, smiling and signing autographs. Told her to "Take it to her. Her putting is weak." and I am sure that my comment made all the difference. Funny to read in the paper that the rake boys were hitting on her in the player shuttle cart as they tried to find the media tent. Was actually pulling for Paula Creamer myself but the second 18 on Saturday against Karrie Webb really took it out of her. Her father & uncle are class acts......stood next to Mama Wie - cold dragon lady - Papa Wie has big hair and seems very detached from the surroundings - Michelle is like an automatron and seems pre-progammed - the wide open fairways here were perfect for her banging game but her putting is abysmal at best - it's a joke that she is playing the John Deere this week.......Juli Inkster had a great match with Annika but she tired on Sunday too....too bad the Championships are leaving this venue - I hope they wind up down the road at Trump so I can take the little swampthings with me next year........

Pirates beat the 2nd place movie by slightly over $110m - I need to see this movie.......

TV viewing was lame this AM - I am so glad that I discovered that trash like INSIDE EDITION is on........

Bill Bradley. 210. 7:35. Glacier Freeze

to the young lady who was watching herself walk by in the windows of the bank on 5th Ave this morning, we can never love you as much as you love yourself......

Look out for Brittany Lincicome at the HSBC this week - she is my dark horse pick to go deep in this tourney....

Nice to see the Mets finally win 2 in a row again......David Wright is in the HR Derby next week - now I have to watch......Paul LoDuca is no Jason Varitek - just ask ARod.....

Guest hostess on The Most this week - she's nice & perky but trying too hard.......The Lost World was on at 4am - always been a guilty pleasure.......and speaking of guilty pleasures, XENA is going to be in a new comic book soon - I just can't see myself buying it but I don't know why I don't own XENA Season 1 & 2 on DVD yet ?

The Office webisodes premiere on July 13 - 3 minutes of must see internet

No big names yet by the Rangers but some good role players to fill in until the kids are ready to step up - and they will - Marc Staal may not be ready now but he will be up for good by February....it would be nice to see Huge Specimen step up this year and muscle his way on to the roster - we need a strong power forward who can forecheck & bang..........Dan Cloutier traded to the LA Kings - his fight against Tommy Salo is on youtube and is a must see

Earl Monroe. 210. 7:39

What a beautiful goal at the 119 minute mark yesterday by the Italians. You just knew it was in as he lined up the kick......can't wait for the finale on Sunday - I thunk France will beat Portugal to get to the final game and then Italy will whomp up on those frogs........

Corzine is an idiot

who is Lukoil and why should I buy their gas ?

Notes from the 4th - shot an 89 at the dogtrack - saw fantastic fireworks - bought an apple blackberry pie that when I got home turned out to be apple blueberry - no complaints on that combo though the raspberry peach I tried this weekend was outstanding - no traffic on the drive home - Exit 9 - the all-american exit - mahalo to the barista at Starbucks - our town's parade is the worst organized waste of time but like crack cocaine, you just keep coming back........

Paris Hilton wants to have babies - the concept just plain scares me.......

Nobody watches The Soprano's to see Paulie Walnuts other than Mama Sirico so it's a good thing that he signed a new deal.......same goes for Silvio, who must not be getting as much from those Bruce residuals as he had hoped for.........filming starts tomorrow

Women's Matchplay Championships at Hamilton Farm this week - network execs will be creaming their jeans if they can somehow get Michelle Wie all the way to Sunday......Annika will be out in the 2nd round and Paula Creamer needs a good showing to stop her sophmore slump.....the best thing about the week, other than watching Natalie Gulbis bend over at the driving range, is trying to guess which lesbian in the crowd belongs to which player.......

The Kelly Clarkson song on the new FORD ad is titled "GO" and may be on her next album - I hope it is because I will download it instantly........

53 3/4 hot dogs - at least Joey Chestnut gave Kobayshi a run for his money this year by eating 52 - the press for the 2007 re-match should be huge......

The "Miami Vice" trailers don't look half bad - but then again most trailers make any movie look watchable - and Colin Farrell almost sounds like Don Johnson if you close your eyes.....still will wait for DVD........

SHSM surprised me this morning when I couldn't help but notice that she was wearing a rather tiny thong - if you don't want me yo know, don't wear see through white pants.......

Hot Dogs, Apple Pie & Thunks - how much more American can you get ?

Been thunking for a few days now so just keep reading and the tunk process will filter down at the end.......

Danielle Peck really is Terri Clark Lite (and curvier) - Terri must be kicking herself that she didn't get "Good Man" first.......

The smell of the eggs & bacon coming from pronto Pizza at 36th & 6th every morning is awesome - it is very hard not to stop and just dive into a plate.......

Pedro's initial return to Fenway was great on Tuesday night - too bad it didn't carry over to the mound when he pitched on Wednesday night - that was just plain ugly......Jose Reyes & David Wright both cooled off in Boston and so did the rest of the Mets during that sweep.....we may have seen the last of Lastins Milledge for the forseeable future - those dropped balls up against the Green Monster were not good - he ill be back and will be an outfield cornerstone for years to come..........as an aside - nice to see that Mike Piazza is having a quietly strong year out in SD and don't look now Reggie Jackson but Ken Griffey Jr has hit dingers in 4 straight games.......

I am still upset with the rangers picking a Larrie in the first round of the NHL Draft - and this idea of playing a game in Yankee Stadium is pure fantasy but as a season ticket holder - I'm there.........Patrick Roy in the Hall of Fame on the first try was an absolute no-brainer

Saw an ad for Ground Chicken Burgers the other day and thunked what a great idea that is - I can see a Tequila/Lime with Monterey Jack combo or a Chipotle Cheddar with avocado or even a BBQ Muenster Chicken Burger......hhhhmmmmm.......

Parking spots the last few days - Felix Millan, Bobby Rousseau and today - Joe Montana (I hated him)......

Britney nekkid & pregnant on the cover of Harper's Bazaar was not what I needed to see - how much further can she go before she hits rockbottom - only Star Jones has less credibility now than Brit & K-Fed......

and speaking of Star Jones - I saw her on Larry King last night and I wanted to give her a roll of bumwad to wipe her mouth there was so much crap coming out of it......I refuse to believe that Barbara Walters lied to her - plain & simple - Larry King should quit giving her a forum.......

The NBA Draft - Zeke may be insane but anything that keeps Stephen A. speechless cn't be all bad.......can't help but think that the italian kid who went #1 is Darko V2.0........Portland was channeling Monty Hall and I still don't know why Boston would want Telfair.......has the NBA quit laughing at the Knicks yet ????? Zeke has to let the kids he has picked in the last 2 years play this year or he can kiss his job good-bye - I thunk he is gone no matter what next year even if they are the #8 seed in the playoffs........

The rain the other morning was hard and the puddles on the way to train were trying hard to pull the wheel from your hand.....as bad as it was, it beat the 3 hour ride home that night, thank you NJ Transit......no sandals, no csi, no short hills society dame and no Athena but Woody was there today and Shades was in his normal seat - i just have this feeling from looking at him that he has a very warped sense of humor........

The Spiderman 3 Teaser that I have seen on the Net looks great - opens May 4, 2007 - Happy Birthday to me........

I really do believe that some of the drivers here in NYC actively try to run down pedestrians like they are in Deathrace 2000.........

Football training camps start in less than a month.......

Hell's Kitchen is a lot less of a guilty pleasure this year and Sara is a snake that will probably get to the finale vs Heather.....I thunk that Chef Ramsey really enjoyed telling Tom to get out of Hell's Kitchen......

You know a book is good when you don't mind your train being delayed at the entrance to the tunnel coming into Penn Station - Shanks for Nothing is one of those books.......

Prickly City is another must read comic strip.......Pearls, Mutts and Get Fuzzy still reign supreme.......

The Most with Alsion Stewart on MSNBC at 4am is slowly becoming one of my favorite early morning shows - mindless news with some interesting segments - I really liked that she alluded to her MTV VJ days this morning when she commented that they used to call MTV - Logan's Run - no one over 30 allowed.......

I may just have to enter my alligator chili in the USA Weekend recipe contest.......

The Theme from Caddyshack was my iPod song of the day today - perfect tune to carry me into my game tomorrow at the Westport CC - or as we refer to it - The DogTrack....

I really am pathetic in that I have to comment on the people on my train but Athena still dressed like a greek goddess today - I wonder where she is a receptionist/intern for the summer - just noticed that the Madison Mom is actually the Short Hills Mom - no LJM at all this week, probably won't see her again until the kids are back in school - no sandals on the morning train but I saw her last night on the train home.......

I wonder how the refs are going to hose Ghana today ? They probably spent all night studying the ridiculous call against the Aussies.....and celbrating by sticking your thumb in your mouth is childish but effective for calling out the opposing team's fans as whiny crybabies - can't do that in the NFL - wish you could........

Word from PAGE SIX is that Republic Air is going to start to offer Tattoos at 30,000 feet - idiots......

So Warren Buffett has decided to donate a vast portion of his wealth to the Gates Foundation for charitable giving. I personally thunk that this is a great idea. More people in today's society need to give back to the community from which they came - both personally and financially. Giving back to the community is something that my family has always believed in and will continue to believe in.

Kudos to Warren Buffett and Kudos to Bill & Melanie Gates......

some thunks from last week and the weekend - aren't you lucky ?????

Sommer interns are really a blessing to the summer commuter. The Chatham intern is obviously working at one of daddy's golf 4some's office. She is tanned blonde member of the Lucky Sperm Club - no doubt drives a BMW or a Range Rover - and has a share in a great beach house down at the Jersey shore.......keep dreaming old man........

saw an older couple obviously coming home on the train from a funeral today. The look in the wife's eyes as she stared out the window and as she watched the people walk up & down the aisle was vacant & pained. Her husband looked as though he would be no help to her. It was very hard to watch....

Cold Pizza - the perfect meal for breakfast lunch or dinner......

If you see a penny on the ground, do you pick it up ?

Ghana with the Wind - NY Post headline after the US World Cup team gacked in their final game. You just know that now that England has moved to the round of 8 that it is time for them to kill all of their fans by losing to Portugal. And what about that OT Goal by Argentina in their game against mexico on saturday ? Wow is all I can say......I had hope to see an African Nation play Brazil in the finals but I will have to settle for Ghana taking on Brazil tomorrow instead. Italy should beat Australia today and I thunk that the Swiss will stop the Ukrainians today.....

Now that Checketts has bought the Blues, how soon before JD becomes GM ? And why hasn't it happened yet ? If it doesn't happen, does Keenan come back to St. Louis ?

The Rangers picked a Larrie in the first round this weekend - I hope the kid gets traded before he ever makes the NHL because I already hate him......in today's NHL, why do they even give out the Lady Byng ??? The MVP voting was a joke - just look at the players choice for outstanding player to see who should have been the MVP......

A special morning thank you to the blonde in red heading west on the north side of 34th street in front of Macy's - loved that extra bounce in your step......

iPod shuffle - Aloha Friday as I hit the doors of the building on Friday morning and Pressure Drop by Toots this morning

Made the Crawfish Pies from the front cover of this month's Chile Pepper magazine - may have been one of the best things I have ever made. The leftover filling went into a casserole dish and I baked it off too - wow - this is an absolute stone cold keeper of a recipe.....

Women's Matchplay Championships coming to HFGC in another week - can't wait to get out there and see Paula Creamer, Annika and Natalie Gulbis.....it's also fun to see which chicks in the gallery are dating the players.......

Dolan & Zeke to talk to the media today about the clusterfrick they have made of the Knicks - this should be some good humor and worth a listen to Fat Mike & the Angry Puppy afterwards.....

Always check the Hole in One section for people I know and to the woman who used a 5 Wood on the 91 yard Par 3 at Basking Ridge - get off the course now !!!!

I really hate commuting and I hate the first timers who wander and look lost while blocking the aisles/walkways/stairs - move to the side, watch and learn......

Linda Stouffer needs to do the CNN Headline News overnights......

Have you lost all rights to your balls if you are out walking 2 chihuahua's in the morning ? I thunk so.....

Red Bull is sponsoring a Nextel Cup car next year and Brian Vickers is going to be their #1 driver - he won't be worth a fantasy start the rest of this year now - Red Bull is making it's move into sports first with MLS and now this - makes sense since everywhere you look these days someone has an energy drink in their hands - I have even seen a Budweiser Energy Beer....

Couldn't wait to get off of 5th Ave this morning.......

Reyes & Wright are blistering hot but not as hot as Lastings Milledge in his rookie dress up outfit - heard he looked like Serena......

It would really suck to have to come back this morning to finish your round at the Booz - Ben Curtis is running away with it and can bogey out and still win the tourney - about the only thing in a Redskins uni that will win this year.......

The bullet into Superman's eye is a great visual - I hope the rest of the movie is just as good....

Jim McGreevey and his life partner are buying a home in Plainfield - home is an understatement, more like an estate - 17 rooms - bet the new neighbors are thrilled with the attention they will bring to the neighborhood......

I don't thunk will kill him like it would have in the past but for 6 strokes yesterday, Lefty was all choke.......

Montie is now 0-100 on US soil.......good

Dwyane Wade just won't lose and David Stern is making sure that the refs know that there is no way that they can let Mark Cuban win. The Stackhouse suspension is a joke. 2-3-2 is a joke. Dirk's performance in Miami was a joke. And most of all, the Miami Heat announcer and the pre-intro flag waving moron not were not only jokes but were a major embarassment......I still think that Dallas will pull it off in 7........

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals - who would have thunked we would be playing this game after the Oilers Game 1 injury & meltdown.....the momentum is all in Edmonton's favor and the Hurricane fans are really going to have to step up to give the Canes a chance to win....it's 1994 all over again and as much as I would love to see Triple OT, I would also like to see the players skating around with it........sidenote - Eric Staal makes me really feel great about the Rangers having his younger brother in their organization - Marc Staal could be our next Brain Leetch......prediction for tonight is Edmonton 3 Carolina 2 in OT

ESPN had a ridiculous NBA Countdown Clock going this morning instead of The Bottomline.....speaking of countdown clocks, is there one for Michelle Wie yet like there was for the Olsen Twins ???

Zarqawi is dead. Good.

So far no one has commented on my sushi tie........

I really wanted a corn muffin from the guy on 37th this morning but the light was against me at 36th so I had to turn instead.......

my newspaper guy is coming later & later - I may have to cancel weekday delivery.......

Did I mention that I shot an 87 at Baltusrol ????

Parked in Jan Erixon's spot today and Walter's again yesterday. Didn't park on Monday because I was playing Baltusrol and you weren't !!! Shot an 87 on the Upper Course. Could have easily broken 85 if a couple of putts had dropped or I hadn't babied so many chips with my lob wedge. (Incidentally, a club I plan to assinate soon.) My caddy was mostly worthless and more concerned with catching the first pitch of the yankees game than anything else but he did give me a great read (finally) on my last putt so I walked off the course with a birdie. Hope I get invited again next year.

Speaking of parking, what kind of idiot parks his jaguar in the train station commuter lot. You & your ego deserve the dings in your doors and I hope you get lots of them.

and speaking of commuting, I really don't mind my morning commute all that much. My train isn't too crowded and not very often, but it happened today, a hot chick sits in the middle seat. Last night I got stuck with an overly cologned 20 something guy with tons of gel in his hair who played games on his cell phone the whole ride. But I digress....it's the commute home that kills me. I understand that NYC is a metropolitan vacation destination for the world but we need to set a few rules & guidelines here. I hereforth decree the following -

No walking 3 or 4 abreast and no holding hands. You are in my way. Move.

No meandering. Pick a line and walk it. You are in my way. Move.

The Empire State Building will be there later today too so come back after I safely on my train. You are in my way. Move.

In fact, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm I don't want any tourists at all between the following streets. Park Avenue between 39th and 38th. 38th between Park & 5th. The west side of 5th (I'll give you the east side because of the evil place of which I cannot speak) between 38th & 36th. 36th between 5th and Broadway. I don't want you on 37th either because I may turn that way to get to 6th&Broadway instead of going down to 36th. I don't have to worry about you walking down 35th because no one but fast walking commuters walks on that street because there is absolutely nothing worthwhile on that street for anyone other than a couple of bums. I will then fight through all of you down 7th to the entrance to Penn at 32nd. And when we get to the stairs, stay to the right if you are slow and never, never, never stop. You are in my way. Move.

I don't thunk I have asked for much.

Pedro hasn't won since April and the Mets are still in 1st. And let's all back off Lastings Milledge and his high 5's down the rightfield line. I would much rather see that kind of exuberance and excitement and interaction with the fans than yet another Barry Bonds at bat, update or interview. MLB needs moments like that to offset the bad taste that Bonds is leaving in the mouths of the fans.

And I have to wonder, does the rest of the country hate Bonds as much as New Yorkers do ? He was chasing a NY Icon in the Babe so you could count on more heat than usual. I heard a caller from Boston tell Fat Mike & the Angry Puppy that people up there just didn't care.

Dwyane Wade has a sinus infection - suck it up and play - this is the NBA Finals not a Tuesday night game in Oklahoma City. I thunk that Dallas has too much depth on their roster for the Heat to overcome and the Heat are also coached by Pat Riley - who I hate and that is the fax - so I say Dallas in 6. I can't wait to see David Stern have to hand the trophy to Mark Cuban.

Jussi or Conklin ? Edmonton is screwed. They really have to hope that Pisani & Peca and the rest of the team really step it up if they want to have a chance now. I will still stick with my initial prediction of Edmonton in 7 in Triple OT. NBC will love that game........

Firecrotch - what a great nickname for Lindsay Lohan. Makes you wonder what Paris Hilton could be called - septic tank crotch ?

Elevator Fun Fact of the Day - 15 years ago today "City Slickers" was the #1 movie in America.

Father's Day Alert - Rick Reilly has a new golf book out. My kids have already bought it for me. They just don't know yet.

Saturday June 17 3pm - USA vs Italy - it will be ugly in our house..........it should be Brazil vs Germany in the Final but I would love to see an African nation sneak in. I hope that ESPN is replaying games at 4am for my workout.

Speaking of 4am TV - CMT Pure Country has replaced VH1 Country (no difference) and MSNBC has started replaying "The Most" with Alison Stewart - great mindless fun - as long as she keeps her hair down, I won't get distracted by her pointy spock ears. CNN Headline News really needs some overnight talent because the empty suits that they have sitting there now really suck.

Haven't seen the semi-finale yet but I hear that the Soprano's was more Bada-Blah than Bada-Bing.......

Miranda Lambert looks great in her new video - "New Strings" - her east Texas twang just kills me........

We got a giant Starbucks machine here at work - takes forever for it to make a bad cup of coffee....

Can't wait to take the kids to see "Cars" - it looks like a lot of fun.........Tony Stewart is going to need to catch a few breaks if he wants to stay in contention for the Chase. I know it's still early but there are too many good drivers out there now who are really starting to push......

I shot an 87 at Baltusrol just in case you didn't know......

Peter King thunks that Ricky Williams is regretting his decision to play in Canada based on one preseason game - 7yds on 4 carries - ridiculous - the only thing that Ricky probably regrets is that he can't speak canadian..........

Tomatoes are starting to take off and so are the beans - my peppers need some careful watching - what they all really need more than more rain is some hot sunny days.......

Still not hitting my weight in ESPN's Diamond Daily but I did get a dinger last night......

Ipod shuffle song of the day - "Don't Look Back" by Peter Tosh & Mick Jagger. I will never forget the episode of SNL when Tosh started playing the song and Jagger came high stepping out from the back - the crowd at 30 Rock and the crowd in our living room both went crazy......

#19 - The Great Langdoni !!!

Isn't one of the signs of the Apocalypse Anna Nicole Smith getting pregnant ?

I have to agree with the look that the blonde yakkity-yak sister gave to the dude with the ridiculous hat this morning. It was even hard for me to take my eyes off of it.

Please ESPN - No More Chasing Aaron Graphic !!!!

I just read on Page Six that John Mayer allegedly bagged Jennifer Love Hewitt - if this is true, she will be banned from all lists in perpetuity - a guy just can't go where John Mayer has already been......Ben Affleck ruined Jennifer Garner for me too.......

Batgirl a 5'10" Red-Haired Lesbian ? The fanboys are going to eat this up........

Nobody gets to their car in the parking lot faster than Powergirl.........

Tonight at 8pm Eastern we get live coverage of The National Spelling Bee - this is going to be fun to watch - these kids already have a ton of pressure put upon themselves and now a live national audience ??? I am loving it.........

Did not watch the LOST repeat last night - went for a tape of an old CSI instead - now to find my tapes of the CSI: Miami Finale and the Two and a Half Men finale

Exclusive golf tomorrow and Monday - life is good........swampy abides

It was Brian Griese last Friday, Joe Namath yesterday and Walter Tkaczuk today.

Krista Allen looks very hot in Toby Keith's new video "A Little Too Late"......

4 of the last 5 days I have run into the same Trashy Hot Asian Chick (THAC) on 39th between Madison & Park as I came to work in the morning......

to the little pumped up guy waiting for his car on 38th - get over yourself and your shirt & tie combo really sucks and is very ugly.......

The LJM is back and everything is right again with my morning drive to the station......

30+ tomato plants, 16 peppers (hot & sweet) and 50 bean plants - it's going to be a busy summer in the garden.....still no hot lemon peppers growing in my seed pods - I thunk they were junk........

Watched LOST again last night and now Season 2 Episode 1 is on tonight - I will be watching.....but what else to watch these days ? Pleanty of one off reality shows and crappy short series - I may have to start watching 24 Season 1.......

Still haven't made the Sports Guys Mailbag but I'm still trying.......

"Anjelica Huston" (AH) sported no sweater or coat yesterday morning and that was a very good thing - now if we could only get her to smile........

Is there anything better than Game 7 in the stanley Cup Playoffs ? Yes there is, OT in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs - Go Carolina !!!!

White tea is nothing more than flavored water........

Dallas should beat Phoenix but I am not counting the Suns out at all - this one goes 7.......Pistons beat Miami tonight but will lose Game 6 in Miami........

Mango Chicken Sausage - again, awesome...........

Miranda Lambert has a dirty innocence about her that makes me feel old when I watch her videos.......

Need a big night from Griffey tonight if I am going to finish up my lackluster May in Diamond Daily - at least I am hitting my weight and then some - unlike some people Mr. Dean.......

I parked in Roberto Clemente's spot yesterday and in Barry Sanders' spot today. Bet I get a low # tomorrow.

2 days in a row now I have not seen the LJM on my way to the train - I need my continuity.....

Omar Minaya fleeced the Diamondbacks.......and a 4-2 record coming out of a yanks/phillies combo is not too shabby.......

"Anjelica Huston" looked very euro in her oversized sunglasses the other morning - still wondering what the rest of her looks like since she also has a black trench coat on........"High Maintenance" almost ran me over again in the parking lot - that woman is dangerous......

Soul Patrol ! Soul Patrol ! I still won't buy his CD but I could be talked into seeing him in Vegas if the tickets are cheap..........Kat was an empty shell last night - she knew she was toast.........Carrie Underwood really has learned a lot about stage presence in the past year...........studio post production can even make Kellie Pickler sond good - and yes, I am ashamed of myself, I downloaded Kat, Taylor & Kellie's songs from the American Idol Season 5 CD..........a couple of things I noticed during the show last night, most of the people in Alabama had their signs upside down when they held them up for the camera and like I said before, LA is jaded and it is no surprise whatsoever that no one showed up for Kat's AI rally..........

The Wreckers CD finally came out and for me it was worth the wait........

I need TiVo but that is another story for another day........

LOST

Okay - I missed out posting my pre-finale thunks but they would have included a mention that Desmond would be back with a tie-in to Dirty Libby and that I thunked that Sayid would round up Jin (the korean legbreaker) and Eko to tail Jack's team to the camp of the Others and I would have thought that Locke had gone out on his own like Rousseau (where is she anyway) - well as we saw, you can't get them all right........

So my thunks & questions are.........

Wow !!! Tons of questions answered and tons more left hanging out there. Even the excessive # of commercials didn’t bother me all that much the episode was so good.

Desmond caused the crash.

Are Eko, Locke & Desmond alive ?

That is no ocean going boat so will Michael & Walt survive ? Nice job by the camera to make sure we didn’t see how much Walt has grown and it was easy to overlay an old audio track over his one spoken word.

What is going to happen to Jack, Kate & Sawyer ? And how did Sawyer feel about Kate looking at Jack and not him just before they got the hoods put over their head ?

Is Charlie finally going to get some Claire action ?

Is Dirty Libby’s dead husband Hurley’s imaginary friend ? They both have the same first name and we have had less likely connections made between characters.

Did you ever thunk that Henry Gale was the leader of the Others ?

Did anyone ever read any of the notebooks at any time and which hatch is the real experiment ? What was the deal with the fake hatch at the camp of the Others ?

Looks like it’s up to Sayid, Jin & Sun to save the troops. And what would Sayid have thunked if he had known that Kelvin was in the hatch just before they were brought to the island ?

How does Penny know to look for electromagnetism to find Desmond and what connection does Penny’s father have to Alvar Hanso and the Dharma Initiative ?

Is it the Fall yet ?

How many extras are they going to pop on the Season 2 DVD Set. Will downloading the webisodes this summer be worth the $$$ or just a pump fake ?

there is just so much more........swampy abides

I flipped the bird at the Yankees store this morning because I can......

I am begging ESPNews to quit ramming & jamming barry bonds down my throat - I don't care what he did last night and I don't want to see barry lowlights leading off the show......

I thunk Ricky is going to find out that there is some fine weed to be had in Canada....or so I have been told.....

A special thank you to the strawberry blonde bouncing down the east side of 6th ave between 35th & 36th.....and another thank you to the blonde who took off her sweater during lunch at Earl's.......

Top Chef Finale tonight - Harold should wipe the floor with Tiffani

The Mets may actually be for real - and typing that may have just sealed their fate......

I hate the Yankees in case you didn't already know........Double Play-Rod is a great name.......

ipod shuffle is great until you get that lousy song from an album you downloaded and forgot to delete....

too many thunks and too little time......swampy abides
Just realized that I never posted my LOST thunks so with the finale slated for tonight, I will have to come back and do that later today.......

but now onto the American Idol Finale from last night........

Justin Guarini. Clay Aiken. Diana DeGarmo. Bo Bice. Who will be this year's runner-up ?

Kat - "Hi. My name is swampy. I'm a Kat-a-holic." 1st song - She caught a small amount of lightning in a bottle when she first performed "Black Horse & a Cherry Tree" but this time it was more like a lightning bug. Not bad but not great and she needed great. 2nd song - I think that she was better than last week with her rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". I am sure that this song will appear on her first album. Great job. I can understand the criticism that it was the 2nd week in a row for the song but this is the finale and you are supposed to bring your best. There were a lot of people watching the show at home for the first time last night so why not go with your best ? 3rd song - hideous song in true AI Finale fashion - her voice was starting to go and she was swimming upstream all song. Not a great way to finish.

Taylor - A Pink Pimp Daddy Jacket and Silver Shoes !!! Taylor absolutely killed "Living in the City" and it seemed even better following Kat's opening song. And Taylor thought about the lyrics this time and lost his manic smile from Stevie Wonder Week. 2nd song - Taylor mailed this one in and I don't know why. His earlier rendition was far superior to this sleepwalking effort. It's almost like he conceded the round to Kat before he even began. 3rd song - another hideous AI Finale original but Taylor kept it together enough and put enough growl into it to win the title. This is not the kind of songs that his fans want him to sing.

So who wins ? Taylor. I voted for Kat out of loyalty but only once.

Kat will do well with a studio produced album and will look great in her videos. I just feel sorry for the final few cities on the summer tour because her voice is going to be gone by then. Taylor is going to have a good career too but I don't see him taking off the way that Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood has in the past year. Taylor's niche is cover songs and he is good at it. I can see him headlining in Vegas within 2 years to sold out legions of the Soul Patrol.

some random thunks from the last few days - my LOST thunks later......

Even the comic strip BLONDIE has recently made a Brokeback Mountain reference - I think we may have finally jumped the shark with this one.......

I have got to hand it to her, the LJM is out there every morning no matter the weather......

Clippers vs Suns - all we need is a red, whit & blue ball and Artis Gilmore's afro.......

Saw an old video of Faith Hill's the other morning she was quite tasty in her young days but I definitely think she is tastier now.......

Sophia Choi is a big dropoff from Susan Hendricks at 4am and where the hell has Kristine Johnson been this week ?????

Parked in Joe Namath yesterday and Potvin Sucks today......

A great big thank you goes out to the woman in the bright orange suit on 5th & 37th yesterday morning - that was really some good humor.......

If I were pitching to Barry Bonds I would hit him every time he came up like that pitcher in Houston did the other night.......

Carolina vs Buffalo and Edmonton vs Anaheim - 2 series that TV execs dread and that hockey fans can't wait to see - fast paced and hard hitting - I like Carolina vs Edmonton but I haven't picked many right yet so Anaheim vs Buffalo would not surprise me......

Mango Chicken Sausage - awesome - thank you Costco.......perhaps in a spicy sun dried tomato cream sauce on a bed of yellow rice and sauteed veggies......

the Mets need Cliff Floyd to start hitting......

Taylor vs Kat - this is almost like Season 2 where either one of them could win but the people of Alabama have nothing better to do with their time so they will make the calls needed to push Taylor over the top - and like Clay, Kat will have an album out first and be the bigger star in the long run - I predict Taylor will be headlining in Vegas within 2 years....

It's hard to pick a favorite Jimmy Buffett song but Fruitcakes is near the top......

2 hour Will & Grace Finale tonight - who cares !!!

3 singers, 3 songs each and 3 more chances to watch Paula Abdul make a fool of herself on national TV - and that just never gets old.....Clive Davis chooses a song, the judges choose a song and our Final 3 each get to choose a song.

Elliott - sounded a little weak & nervous on the first song - maybe the pressure is starting to get to him - not wild about his 2nd song either - not enough snap or pop to the lyrics - it's not the type of song that you can croon or schmooze - 3rd song was his best - looked comfortable and sounded good but there was just something missing in it for me - maybe not enough "Ray-ness" or something. Overall an average performance on a night when he needed to go deep.

Kat - "Hi. My name is swampy and I'm a Kat-a-holic." Now that I have that out of the way, 1st song was not good in my opinion - it allowed her to go on runs that she didn't need and she didn't sing the chorus - (as an aside to Randy, this was Clive's choice so you score no points and probably got her some sympathy votes for criticizing the song choice - enjoyed listening to you trying to suck up to the boss when you got called on it) you do have to give Kat credit though for changing up the arrangement so it didn't cry "karaoke" - 2nd song - Simon lobbed her a big old fat one and Kat almost delivered - no way was this a "Kelly Clarkson Big Band Night Moment" but it was very good - Simon was right, too bad it wasn't the last song because the 3rd song was a mess - way too much vocal styling and Randy went right for the jugular by saying she is no Ella - good thing she wore a short skirt & boots because that helped to make up for the shortcomings of the song. Hope her fans were calling.

Taylor - I half expected the Idol producers to get Courtney Cox Arquette to jump up on stage to dance with Taylor during his 1st song - never much liked the song and didn't think that Taylor added anything to it - 2nd song - another lob that bounces off the wall when it should have been out of the park - he cheats us of the final falsetto note but makes up for it with the Belushi-like facial expressions - 3rd song - perfect song for Taylor but he absolutely ruined it at the ending - no matter, Taylor is headed to the Kodak Theater next week.

So who's going home ? Taylor is clear, Elliott had 3 average performances and Kat had one average, one great and one mess. History tells us that a woman will go home as that has been the case in each of the first 4 seasons but I think tonight that Elliott has finally come up short. He will make some nice coin in the adult contemporary market but he won't be in the Final 2.

It will Taylor vs Kat and I am afraid that no matter what happens, Taylor will be your next American Idol.

My out of context Survivor Thunks from a posting on a Survivor thread over at the W - click to your right

RealityNewsOnline.com actually awarded Cirie a Hall of Fame Moment (realitytvhalloffame.com) for her Triple Play Ouster of Courtney. Cirie should have been gone at the first TC but somehow managed to listen and work her way to the Final 4 - she would have won against any of the other 3 had she made it to the Final 2.As for Terry and the hidden Immunity Idol. His only real play, other than for himself, was at the merge and when his team was down 6-4. The 2nd highest vote getter that night was Aras and if Terry had been smart enough, from a team perspective, he could have narrowed the gap to 5-4 with Bruce on the fence and a good possibility to jump at that point. Can't remember if Bruce was gone by the next TC or not due to his intestinal blockage. Otherwise, Terry had to keep it for himself right up until the end. It would have been nice to see him slip it to Danielle but he could not trust her as far as he could throw her, so he did the right thing.

As for Shane & Courtney, I can see the "Celebreality" execs over at VH1 burning up the phone lines today trying to get those 2 booked onto an edition of "The Surreal Life" and Danielle, she is destined for Maxim, Stuff or FHM.

....I stand by all of those points today and think that terry had to be arrogant because it was "Me against Them" from the time of the merge until the end. Every flip he tried to pull off failed. He had to keep winning and he did until the end. It does seem now in hindsight that perhaps Terry choked in those final 2 challenges because there was finally pressure on him and he had to win. I thunk it was more of a case of Terry losing than Aras winning.

Happy 25th Birthday Meadow Soprano.......

Aras did not deserve the $1m but neither did Danielle - more on that later.....

still loving "The Office" finale and can't wait for Part 1 of 2 on "Two and a Half Men" tonight....

the devils are out of the playoffs and all is right in the world again - Edmonto vs Carolina has to be giving the NBC Sports execs agita.....

I sent a couple cans of shaving cream to the devils locker room for tomorrow - they will need it to help shave off their playoff beards after the Hurricanes get done sweeping them.

Terry couldn't trust Danielle to not turn on him at Tribal Council but it would have been a real ballsy move if he had slipped her the idol on the way to go vote. In the previews for Sunday night it sure looks like Cirie's fire has the edge. Terry has also seemed to have forgotten what happened to Colby - you can win all the challenges but you have to win the people too - he can only hope that if he makes it to the final 2 that Shane & Courtney are bitter enough towards the former Casaya member left standing that he takes the $$$ by default. And Aras is tight-roping a potentially sticky situation if Cirie beats Danielle. How can he take Cirie to the final 2 with him ? She is a guaranteed $1m winner if she gets there while Aras would have the upper hand against Terry - despite the fact that Aras is an immature whiny little crunchy baby...we shall see on Sunday night......

and speaking of Sunday night, the vcr will be taping "DH" though I do think that this show has steadily declined this season....one question though, why in the world would Tom ever want to cheat on Lynette ??? She is the queen MILF of Wisteria Lane if you ask me.....

I can tell the time in the morning by where I see the Little Jog Mom (LJM) on Main Street - I give her credit, she is out there rain or shine......

Ipod Shuffle note - Travelin' Shoes came on as I turned onto 34th street this morning - great timing, put an extra spring in my step......

Clips-Suns is starting to look like an old ABA series.......

Hideki Matsui breaks his wrist and is out for 3 months - there goes the only Yankee I like....

Haven't heard what the theme is for the next round of AI - I'm too lazy to go to the website....

Earl was entertaining last night but The Office was brilliant. The "Ross & Rachel" moment was predictable but not telling as they broke away before we could see what Pam's next reaction was going to be. I really thought that we were going to see some Jim & Jan drunken hook up. Kelly and her comments about Kobe Bryant were hilarious and Ryan is whipped if he knows Kelly's absurd drink order.....I would never let Kevin's band play even if it were in my garage though NBC would be smart to make the song & video available via podcast.....if Dwight doesn't win an Emmy than there is no justice in Hollywood......how soon before I can get Season 2 on DVD ?????

I think I need to do some cooking this weekend but i know I need to do some work in the yard more - I'll never get my tomatos and peppers into the ground at this rate....

The Mo-Town blonde has cut about 18 inches of her hair off - it helps a little - the new mo-town bottle blonde looks very high maintenance but has a nice walk.......

Is The Wreckers album out yet ?

Wow, who really saw that one coming ? I personally don't care for Chris or his type of music so whether he was the best or not really didn't matter to me. I would buy a Katharine CD but I would not buy a Chris CD. Seacrest was cold as hell in his announcement too - the poor kid looked shocked. He will have a career and he owes it all to this show. He should be glad that he didn't win.

I wonder if Simon knows how to sell a Taylor or Elliott CD ? He's made enough cake off of Carrie Underwood that I guess he can have an off year and not have to worry about flying coach.

LOST - what can you say but it was an episode that was finally on par with the best of Season 1....I really thought that Dirty Libby was going to get her finals words out and that Michael would be exposed. Will the island's healing powers bring her back to life ? How much weight will Hurley gain with this huge gorilla of guilt sitting on his back ?Any episode with an Eko flashback is a keeper and what becomes of Locke now that he has learned that he is nothing more than a rat in a maze pushing a button for a reward ? Michael had one hell of a look on his face at the end and in the previews for next weekit looks like Sayid gets ready to raost his balls over a camel dung fire.......and what about Desmond, rumor hasi it (and so does imdb) that he comes back next week.......

If there is a hockey god in heaven, the devils will get swept on Saturday.......

I hate Pat Riley but I think Sahq has just decided that the Nets playoff run is over....

Was killing the ball daily in Diamond Daily last month, can't hit my weight this month.....

Season Finales for Earl (Hey Crabman !) and The Office tonight - bonus length with a Da Vinci Code ad stuck in the middle of it all......

Walking down 7th Avenue at night to catch the train is a lot like trying to make up a lap at Martinsville or Darlington.......

Lindsay Lohan finally thinks curves are sexy - keep eating - too bad I feel like a dirty old man even noticing that bit of news.....

No offense to Mike Galanos but I would rather see Susan Hendricks at 4am 7 out of 7 days a week.......

and on Survivor tonight we get down to the final 3 in preparation for the Sunday Finale and Reunion show - should be fun seeing psycho Courtney's reactions to all this - if VH1 were smart, they would sign up Shane & Courtney for the next Surreal Life - guaranteed sparks......

until tomorrow - swampy abides

It's Final 4 night - A night in which we have said good-bye to Tamyra Gray, Josh Gracin, LaToya London and Anthony "Sergei" Fedorov.....

Taylor - He's a performer and an entertainer. I didn't love his first song and I am getting tired of his antics but he did well on his second song. He got a ton of shout outs to the Soul Patrol.

Elliott - He looked like "Teen Wolf" when he met with Tommy Mottola. He has a great voice but no charisma - no potential star power - he is Simon Cowell's worst nightmare from a sales perspective out of the Final 4. He was fine and based solely on his voice he would be safe.

Chris - not all surprised by the first song choice but I felt he didn't rock it out enough - The Fine Young Cannibals did it a lot better - the 2nd song I was sure would be a bomb but he nailed it.

Katharine - "Hi. My name is swampy. I'm a Kat-a-holic". There now that I got that out of the way - she blew it tonight. She started out fine but a song medley sounds to "theme park" at this stage of the game and you just knew that Randy was going to kill her for forgetting her lines. Her 2nd song was our wedding song and mrs. swampy almost broke the TV - she was too soft to start, completely oversang the 2nd part and ran out of steam trying to hit # 714 at the end. I can tell you that I did not get many busy signals as I dialed her # an hour after the show. And as an aside, the way that Tommy Mottola was ogling Kat, do you think Thalia should start to get worried ?????

So my bottom 2 were Kat (I hated typing that) and Taylor with Kat needing to go home....

but I think America will put Elliott & Taylor in the bottom 2 and it will "Teen Wolf" who will be leaving....

And I would not put it past Seacrest to say "Ladies & Gentlemen, (Blank) has left the building.".....
